Trofors is the administrative centre of the municipality of Grane in Nordland county, Norway. It is located at the confluence of the rivers ''Austervefsna'' and ''Svenningdalselva'' which forms the large river Vefsna. is a municipality in Nordland county, Norway. It is part of the Helgeland traditional region. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Trofors. There are several other villages including Fallmoen, Leiren, Majavatn, and Strendene. European route E6 highway and the Nordland Line run through the municipality from south to north. The municipality is the 37th largest by area out of the 356 municipalities in Norway. Grane is the 302nd most populous municipality in Norway with a population of 1,461. Majavatn
Majavatn ( South Sámi: Maajehjaevrie) is a village in the municipality of Grane in Nordland county, Norway. It is located on the eastern shore of the lake Majavatnet, just west of the boundary of Børgefjell National Park. The village of Leiren lies about to the northeast and the municipal center of Trofors lies about to the north. Both European route E6 highway and the Nordland Line pass through the village of Majavatn. Majavatn Station is the local railway station. Grane Church
Grane Church ( no, Grane kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Grane Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. It is located in the village of Grane, about north of the municipal center of Trofors. The church sits along the European route E06 highway, just from the river Vefsna. It is the main church for the Grane parish which is part of the Indre Helgeland prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Sør-Hålogaland. The white, wooden church was built in a long church style in 1860 using plans drawn up by the architects Andreas Grendestad and Andreas Nilsskog. The church seats about 230 people. The church was consecrated on 22 July 1860. A new service building was constructed near the church in 1999, and it is used for church offices. The church typically holds worship services about 20 times per year. Vefsna
, also known as or , is the largest river in Nordland county, Norway. It is long and drains a watershed of . Its headwaters lie in the mountains of Børgefjell National Park at the lake Simskardvatnet. The river runs through the municipalities of Hattfjelldal, Grane, and Vefsn. The southern parts of the river are sometimes called the river ''Susna''. The river flows north, not far from the Swedish border, and some of the minor tributaries come from Sweden. At the town of Mosjøen, the river discharges into the Vefsnfjord. The Laksforsen waterfall lies along its course. Historically, it was an important salmon fishery, but it has now been infected with the salmon parasite Gyrodactylus salaris. Nordland Line
The Nordland Line ( no, Nordlandsbanen, ) is a railway line between Trondheim and Bodø, Norway. It is the longest in Norway and lacks electrification. The route runs through the counties of Trøndelag (formerly Sør-Trøndelag and Nord-Trøndelag) and Nordland, carrying a combination of commuter, long-haul passenger and freight trains. From Trondheim Central Station to Steinkjer Station the line is most heavily used, with hourly services by the Trøndelag Commuter Rail. There are three branch lines—the Stavne–Leangen Line at Leangen Station, the Meråker Line at Hell Station and the Namsos Line at Grong Station. European route E6 ( no, Europavei 6, sv, Europaväg 6, or simply E6) is the main north-south thoroughfare through Norway as well as the west coast of Sweden. It is long and runs from the southern tip of Sweden at Trelleborg, into Norway and through almost all of the country north to the Arctic Circle and Nordkapp. The route ends in Kirkenes close to the Russian border.
