Trisha Genesis
Trisha Genesis (born March 20, 2000) is a Filipino volleyball player who plays for the Akari Chargers of the Premier Volleyball League, the 2019 Collegiate Conference champion of which was her alma mater Adamson University and with her winning the MVP honors. Early life and education Genesis played for Holy Rosary College in Sta. Rosa, Laguna in 2012. After four years, she made it to the Philippine women's junior team which participated in the 2016 Asian Women's U19 Volleyball Championship. A Palarong Pambansa skipper, Genesis was recruited by UAAP teams but chose to play for the Adamson Lady Falcons in 2018. Career College Genesis would play for the Adamson Lady Falcons in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) volleyball championships. She played alongside Louie Romero. Volleyball
Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the programme at the Atlanta 1996. The adapted version of volleyball at the Summer Paralympic Games is sitting volleyball. The complete set of rules is extensive, but play essentially proceeds as follows: a player on one of the teams begins a 'rally' by serving the ball (tossing or releasing it and then hitting it with a hand or arm), from behind the back boundary line of the court, over the net, and into the receiving team's court. The receiving team must not let the ball be grounded within their court. Adamson Lady Falcons
The Adamson Soaring Falcons are the collegiate men's varsity teams of Adamson University that play in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines which is the mother sports league of the ''Falcons''. The collegiate women's varsity teams are called the ''Lady Falcons'' while the high school varsity teams are called the ''Baby Falcons'' and ''Lady Baby Falcons''. The University's varsity teams also participate in other sports leagues such as the Filoil Flying V Preseason Cup, Fr. Martin's Cup, University Games, and Premier Volleyball League. Team mascot and colors The school's choice of the falcon as its mascot is symbolic. Akari Chargers
The Akari Chargers is a professional women's volleyball team in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL). The team is owned by Akari Lighting & Technology Corporation. History The Akari Chargers was created by the Akari Lighting & Technology Corporation, announcing its official entry into the Premier Volleyball League as the 10th professional club team. Akari's has been a longtime sponsor of the Adamson Lady Falcons collegiate volleyball team which clinched the 2019 Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference. Before the start of the 2022 reinforced conference, Akari announced that it tapped Brazilian head coach of the Philippines women's national volleyball team, Jorge Edson to be its head coach. Premier Volleyball League
The Premier Volleyball League (PVL) is a women's professional volleyball league in the Philippines organized by Sports Vision Management Group, Inc. The league began in 2004 as the Shakey's V-League, a women's collegiate league. Since 2011, the league became open to participation of corporate clubs and other non-collegiate teams. The Spikers' Turf has served as the men's counterpart of the league. UAAP Volleyball Championships
The University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) volleyball tournament is divided into four divisions, namely men's, women's, boys' and girls'. Volleyball is a mandatory sport in the women's division. The UAAP volleyball tournament was held in the first semester of the school year until the UAAP Board decided to move it to the second semester in Season 69 (school year 2006–2007). This decision was made so that the games can be televised to improve its popularity. Tournament format The tournament begins with a double round robin group stage, where a team meets its opponent twice in a season. A semi-finals round composed of the top four teams follows, after which the top two teams meet in the final in a best-of-three series. The 2019 Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference was the ninth conference of the Premier Volleyball League. The conference started on August 17, 2019, and ended on October 12, 2019, at the Filoil Flying V Centre, San Juan, Metro Manila, Philippines.
