BIG3
Big3 (stylized BIG3) is a 3-on-3 basketball league founded by hip hop musician and actor Ice Cube and entertainment executive Jeff Kwatinetz. The league consists of 12 teams whose rosters include both former NBA players and international players. The rules of Big3 games contain deviations from the official rules of 3-on-3 basketball as administered by FIBA. In January 2020, Big3 announced its rule set would be the core of a new basketball variant called "Fireball3" (stylized ''FIREBALL3''). Lisa Deshaun Leslie (born July 7, 1972) is an American former professional basketball player. She is currently the head coach for Triplets in the BIG3 professional basketball league, as well as a studio analyst for Orlando Magic broadcasts on Fox Sports Florida. Leslie played in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). She is a three-time WNBA MVP and a four-time Olympic gold medal winner. The number-seven pick in the 1997 inaugural WNBA draft, she followed her career at the University of Southern California with eight WNBA All-Star selections and two WNBA championships over the course of 11 seasons with the Los Angeles Sparks, before retiring in 2009. 2019 Big3 Season
The 2019 BIG3 season was the third season of BIG3. The regular season began on June 22, 2019 and ended on August 17, 2019. The playoffs began on August 25, 2019 and concluded with the championship game on September 1, 2019. On January 11, 2019, the BIG3 announced that they would expand to 12 teams for the upcoming season, and move to two nights (consisting of three games each) per week. The league will also play in 18 cities, and allow players as young as 27 to compete in the league. On April 4, 2019, BIG3 announced a new broadcast deal with CBS Sports, under which coverage moved to CBS and CBS Sports Network. On April 18, 2019, BIG3 announced a new partnership deal with Toyota which introduces the RAV4 Point Shot. 3x3 basketball (pronounced ''three-ex-three'') is a variation of basketball played three-a-side, with one backboard and in a half-court setup. According to an ESSEC Business School study commissioned by the International Olympic Committee, 3x3 is the largest urban team sport in the world. Sergerio Montez "Teddy" Gipson (born February 15, 1980) is an American professional basketball player who last played for Donar of the Dutch Basketball League (DBL). Professional career Gipson started his professional career in 2003 with MyGuide Amsterdam in the Dutch Eredivisie, where he played three seasons. He won the Dutch championship in his debut season. Donar, also known as Donar Groningen, is a professional basketball club based in Groningen, Netherlands. The club competes in the BNXT League and its home arena is MartiniPlaza, which has a seating capacity of 4,350 people.
