Ken Trinkle
Kenneth Wayne Trinkle (December 15, 1919 – May 10, 1976) was an American professional baseball player, a relief pitcher, in Major League Baseball. He played with the New York Giants from 1943–48, and the Philadelphia Phillies in 1949. As a relief specialist in Major League Baseball, he led the National League in appearances in 1946 and 1947. He threw and batted right-handed during his baseball career. Career Baseball Ken Trinkle signed a professional contract to play with the Thomasville Dodgers Minor League Baseball team in 1939 after playing baseball as a pitcher in high-school. As a Minor League Baseball player, Trinkle played baseball in the Baltimore Orioles organization of the International League from 1940 to 1942, and was 15–11 during his last year with the Orioles before being purchased by the New York Giants. Elbert Lee Trinkle
Elbert Lee Trinkle (March 12, 1876 – November 25, 1939) was an American politician who served as the 49th Governor of Virginia from 1922 to 1926. Biography On March 12, 1876, Trinkle was born in Wytheville, Wythe County, Virginia, as the youngest son of the prominent Trinkle family. After graduating from Hampden–Sydney College in 1895, he studied law at the University of Virginia, where he was manager of the Virginia Glee Club, and later opened a Wytheville law practice. Trinkle served as the chairman and an elector of the Democratic Party in 1916. He served two terms in the Virginia Senate before his election as governor in 1921. Trinkle boasted of his support for woman suffrage and some newspapers credited his victory in the primary in part to the women’s vote. Trinkle also acted as a delegate for Virginia to the Democratic National Convention in 1924 and 1928. Jeffrey C. Trinkle is Professor and Chair of the Computer Science and Engineering department at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. He is known for his work in robotic manipulation, multibody dynamics, and automated manufacturing. He has bachelor's degrees in physics (1979) and engineering (1979) from Ursinus College and Georgia Institute of Technology, respectively, and a PhD (1987) from the University of Pennsylvania. He has taught at the University of Arizona, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and Texas A&M University. From 1998 to 2003 he was a research scientist at Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Trinkle Mansion is an historic building located in Wytheville, Virginia that is now a four-room bed and breakfast. It is a contributing property to the Wytheville Historic District. History The Trinkle Mansion was built in 1912 by William Trinkle, the son of a prominent Wytheville family. William married a young woman by the name of Ethel and the young couple had two young children, a boy and a girl. William was a wealthy farm owner that oversaw of land. The house was built in a Classical Revival style and had unprecedented technology for the time period like a steam heating system and a built-in central vacuum system.
