Trinity College Queensland is a theological institution of the Queensland Synod of the Uniting Church in Australia. Trinity College Queensland is responsible for the delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, chaplaincy training and lay education in the Queensland Synod. History The steps towards the creation of Trinity Theological College (now known as Trinity College Queensland) are outlined in ''Teaching the faith in an age of doubt'', a booklet by R.H. Gough, Chairman of the Ministerial Education Board in 1980. In brief, the three theological halls of the foundational churches which came into union in 1977 were already actively cooperating in the 1960s, leading to the creation of a Joint Faculty in 1968. The Synod of Queensland or Queensland Synod is a state council of the Uniting Church in Australia. The word 'synod' also describes the regular meeting (every 18 months) of representatives of the state-wide church. These meetings are known as the Synod in Session. Albert Street Uniting Church is a heritage-listed church at 319 Albert Street (on the corner of Ann Street), Brisbane City, City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It was designed by George Henry Male Addison and built from 1888 to 1889 by Thomas Pearson & Sons. It was originally known as Albert Street Methodist Church and Central Methodist Mission. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 21 October 1992. History The first Methodist church in Brisbane, a modest brick chapel, was constructed in 1849 on the corner of Albert Street and Burnett Lane. It was replaced in 1856 by a larger building. The Australian College of Theology (ACT) is an Australian higher education provider based in Sydney, New South Wales. The college delivers awards in ministry and theology and was one of the first Australian non-university providers to offer an accredited bachelor's degree and a research doctorate.
