Trinity (Visions Of Atlantis Album)
''Trinity'' is the third studio album by Austrian symphonic metal band Visions of Atlantis, released on 25 May 2007 in Europe and 5 June 2007 in the US. It features American vocalist Melissa Ferlaak. Reception The album received a mixed reception by critics. About.com's reviewer marked strong influences of Nightwish to the band and wrote that the album, although well done, was not very original. A review by the German edition of ''Metal Hammer'' concluded that, at the time, the band had not yet written any remarkable song. The style was called kitschy, and singer Melissa Ferlaak Melissa Marie Ferlaak (born April 26, 1979) is an American soprano, best known as the former singer of symphonic metal bands Aesma Daeva, Visions of Atlantis, and Echoterra. Visions Of Atlantis
Visions of Atlantis is an Austrian metal band from Styria, founded in 2000. Inspiration came both from successful symphonic metal band Nightwish and from the myth of Atlantis. History ''Eternal Endless Infinity'' and lineup changes (2000–2004) Fascinated by the myth of Atlantis, Werner Fiedler, Thomas Caser, Christian Stani, and Chris Kamper decided in August 2000 to work out a concept inspired by the secret of Atlantis. Late in summer mezzo-soprano Nicole Bogner joined the project, and this was the birth of Visions of Atlantis. A first demo, ''Morning in Atlantis'' was released in 2000. In 2001 they signed with TTS Media Music/Black Arrow Productions, and in 2002 their first album, '' Eternal Endless Infinity'' was released. In 2003, the band saw some changes in lineup, replacing Christian Stani with Mario Plank and Chris Kamper with Miro Holly. ''Cast Away'' and Nicole's departure (2004–2005) Now with Napalm Records, which released the band's second studio ...

Symphonic Power Metal
Symphonic metal is a cross-generic style designation for the symphonic subsets of heavy metal music subgenres. It is used to denote any metal band that makes use of symphonic or orchestral elements. The style features the heavy drums and guitars of metal with different elements of orchestral classical music, such as symphonic instruments, choirs and sometimes a full orchestra, or just keyboard orchestration. Symphonic metal bands can feature classically trained vocalists, in which case they can be attributed nicknames such as opera metal or operatic metal. Perhaps the most pioneering and prominent examples of symphonic metal bands are Swedish band Therion, Finnish band Nightwish, Italian band Rhapsody of Fire and Dutch bands Within Temptation, The Gathering and Epica. All six bands place a large focus on elements prevalent in film scores in addition to the more basic classical components utilized more widely in the genre. Musical characteristics The metal subgenres most ty ...

Cast Away (album)
''Cast Away'' is the second album by Austrian symphonic power metal band Visions of Atlantis, released in 2004. Reception ''Metal Hammer Germany'' wrote that the album was arranged rather simple and less spectacular than contemporary releases by Nightwish or Within Temptation. Some refrains and intros of ''Cast Away'' were even criticised for being almost kitsch. The reviewer was however positive about singer Nicole Bogner's evolution since the previous album. According to ''AllMusic'' reviewer, the album was an indecisive mix of Nightwish and Evanescence. He wrote that both Nicole Bogner's operatic singing and Mario Plank's "pop-oriented" performance made the band lose its musical identity but also opened it for a wider audience. The ''Sonic Seducer ''Sonic Seducer'' is a German music magazine that covers gothic rock, new wave, EBM and other kinds of electronic music and culture. Delta (Visions Of Atlantis Album)
''Delta'' is the fourth full-length album by Austrian symphonic power metal band Visions of Atlantis featuring the new vocalist Maxi Nil. It was released on 25 February 2011. Reception The reviewers of ''Jukebox Metal'' and '' Sonic Seducer'' agreed that new singer Maxi Nil did not reach the musical quality of her predecessor. However, the album was called a solid release and was compared to the style of Edenbridge and Epica. The German edition of ''Metal Hammer'' marked that the contrast between female voices and male growling that is typical for the genre was rather absent on this album, and wrote that ''Delta'' featured straight rock hymns instead. Their reviewer and James Donovan of ''Jukebox Metal'' found the style to be remiscent of Kamelot Kamelot is an American power metal band from Tampa, Florida, formed by Thomas Youngblood, in 1987. Nightwish
Nightwish is a Finnish symphonic metal band from Kitee. The band was formed in 1996 by lead songwriter and keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen, guitarist Emppu Vuorinen, and former lead singer Tarja Turunen. The band soon picked up drummer Jukka Nevalainen, and then bassist Sami Vänskä after the release of their debut album, ''Angels Fall First'' (1997). In 2001, Vänskä was replaced by Marko Hietala, who also took over the male vocalist role previously filled by Holopainen or guest singers. Although Nightwish have been prominent in their home country since ''Angels Fall First'', they did not achieve wider success until the release of the albums '' Oceanborn'' (1998), '' Wishmaster'' (2000) and ''Century Child'' (2002). Their 2004 album, '' Once'', has sold more than one million copies and was the band's breakthrough in the United States. Their biggest US hit single, "Wish I Had an Angel" (2004), received MTV airplay and was included on three US film soundtracks to promote their N ...
