Tridev
''Tridev'' () is a 1989 Indian action thriller film directed by Rajiv Rai. It stars Sunny Deol, Naseeruddin Shah, Jackie Shroff, Madhuri Dixit, Sangeeta Bijlani, Sonam, Anupam Kher and Amrish Puri. The film was critically and commercially successful at the box office and was third highest-grossing film of 1989 behind ''Maine Pyar Kiya'' and ''Ram Lakhan'' and won three Filmfare Awards at the 35th Filmfare Awards in 1990. The film was remade in Telugu as ''Nakshatra Poratam'', with Suman Talwar, Bhanuchander Prasad and Arun Pandian. Plot Powerful crime lord Bhujang has an honest politician assassinated on behalf of his arms supplier. Inspector Karan, the son of a respected judge is hired for the case. 35th Filmfare Awards
The 35th Filmfare Awards were held in 1990. ''Maine Pyaar Kiya'' led the ceremony with 12 nominations, followed by ''Chandni (film), Chandni'' with 10 nominations, and ''Ram Lakhan'' with 9 nominations. Sooraj Barjatya's ''Maine Pyaar Kiya'' won 6 awards, including Filmfare Award for Best Film, Best Film, thus becoming the most-awarded film at the ceremony. Rajiv Rai
Rajiv Gulshan Rai (born 18 July 1955) is an Indian film director, screenwriter and film editor. He is the son of the producer Gulshan Rai. He has directed many films under his father's production company ''Trimurti Films''. He made his debut as a director with the 1985 action film '' Yudh''. He went on to write and direct several hit films in the action and thriller genres: ''Tridev'' (1989), ''Vishwatma'' (1992), ''Mohra'' (1994), and ''Gupt'' (1997). Gulshan Madhosh Rai (2 March 1924 – 11 October 2004) was an Indian film producer and distributor. He produced successful films in the 1970s and 1980s directed by Vijay Anand, Yash Chopra and Subhash Ghai and thereafter directed by his son Rajiv Rai.
