Triangle Program
The Triangle Program is an alternative education program in Toronto, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, designed for gay, lesbian, bisexuality, bisexual and transgender students who are at risk of dropping because of homophobia, homophobic and transphobia, transphobic harassment in regular schools or need supports and flexibility around struggles with mental health, housing, or other social struggles. Operated by the Toronto District School Board at the campus of Oasis Alternative Secondary School, Triangle is the only program of its type in Canada. LGBT pride (also known as gay pride or simply pride) is the promotion of the self-affirmation, dignity, Social equality, equality, and increased visibility of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people as a social group. A promenade dance, commonly called a prom, is a dance party for high school students. It may be offered in semi-formal black tie or informal suit for boys, and evening gowns for girls. This event is typically held near the end of the school year. There may be individual junior (11th grade) and senior (12th grade) proms or they may be combined. At a prom, a "prom king" and a "prom queen" may be revealed. These are honorary titles awarded to students elected in a school-wide vote prior to the prom. Transphobia
Transphobia is a collection of ideas and phenomena that encompass a range of negative attitudes, feelings, or actions towards transgender people or transness in general. Transphobia can include fear, aversion, hatred, violence or anger towards people who do not conform to social gender expectations. It is often expressed alongside homophobic views and hence is often considered an aspect of homophobia.
