Trials And Tribble-ations
"Trials and Tribble-ations" is the 104th episode of the American science fiction television series '' Star Trek: Deep Space Nine'', the sixth episode of the fifth season. It was written as a tribute to the original series of ''Star Trek,'' in the year of that show's 30th anniversary; sister series '' Voyager'' also produced a tribute episode, " Flashback". Set in the 24th century, ''Star Trek: Deep Space Nine'' follows the adventures of the crew of the space station Deep Space Nine, near the planet Bajor, as the Bajorans recover from a brutal, decades-long occupation by the imperialistic Cardassians. Deep Space Nine
''Star Trek: Deep Space Nine'' (abbreviated as ''DS9'') is an American science fiction television series created by Rick Berman and Michael Piller. The fourth series in the ''Star Trek'' media franchise, it originally aired in syndication from January 3, 1993, to June 2, 1999, spanning 176 episodes over seven seasons. The Trouble With Tribbles
"The Trouble with Tribbles" is the fifteenth episode of the second season of the American science fiction television series ''Star Trek''. Written by David Gerrold and directed by Joseph Pevney, it was first broadcast on December 29, 1967. In this comic episode, the starship ''Enterprise'' visits a space station that soon becomes overwhelmed by rapidly-reproducing small furry creatures called "tribbles." It is claimed the short story "Pigs Is Pigs" by Ellis Parker Butler inspired the episode, but strong similarities to sections of the novel ''The Rolling Stones'' led the producers to seek a waiver from author Robert A. Heinlein. The original episode has had several produced follow-ups. USS Defiant
The USS ''Defiant'' is the name of several starships in the Star Trek media franchise, most notably a vessel featured in '' Star Trek: Deep Space Nine'' (1993–1999). Avery Brooks
Avery Franklin Brooks (born October 2, 1948) is an American actor, director, singer, narrator and educator. He is best known for his television roles as Captain Benjamin Sisko on '' Star Trek: Deep Space Nine'', as Hawk on '' Spenser: For Hire'' and its spinoff '' A Man Called Hawk'', and as Dr. Bob Sweeney in the Academy Award–nominated film ''American History X''. The Bajorans (variously pronounced , , ) are a fictional species in the science-fiction '' Star Trek'' franchise. They are a humanoid extraterrestrial species native to the planet Bajor, who have a long-standing enmity with the Cardassians, owing to decades of subjugation under a military dictatorship which saw many of their species enslaved or forced into exile away from their homeworld.
