Trey Mitchell (strongman)
Charles "Trey" Mitchell III (born July 16, 1993) is a professional strongman from Lumberton, Texas. Standing 6'4" tall and known by his nickname "Big Tex", he is most notable for winning the Shaw Classic strongman championship two consecutive times in 2021 and 2022. Mitchell was born on July 16, 1993, and started strength training for football at high school. He then entered his first strength contest in Houston in 2012 and gradually excelled in the sport, winning the America's Strongest Man in Long Beach, California in 2018. Mitchell now competes at the top tier of the sport. In 2022, he placed 2nd at the 2022 Rogue Invitational. He placed fourth in the 2023 events in both the Arnold Strongman Classic and World's Strongest Man. He also won the 2023 North America's Strongest Man competition. Lumberton is a city in Hardin County, Texas, United States. The population was 13,554 at the 2010 census, up from 11,943 at the 2000 census. Lumberton is the home of Village Creek State Park. Lifting Stone
Lifting stones are heavy natural stones which people are challenged to lift, proving their strength. They are common throughout northern Europe, particularly Scotland, Wales, Iceland (where they are referred to as ''steintökin''), Scandinavia and North West England centred around Cumbria. Recently, lifting stones have been incorporated into the World's Strongest Man competitions, using various cast, found, or established challenge stones such as the Húsafell Stone. During the descent and knee joints flex while the ankle joint dorsiflexes; conversely the hip and knee joints extend and the ankle joint plantarflexes when standing up. Deadlift
The deadlift is a weight training exercise in which a loaded barbell or bar is lifted off the ground to the level of the hips, torso perpendicular to the floor, before being placed back on the ground. Strongman
In the 19th century, the term strongman referred to an exhibitor of strength or similar circus performers who performed feats of strength. More recently, strength athletics, also known as strongman competitions, have grown in popularity. These competitions are now composed of a variety of events in which competitors have to move the highest weights possible, the winner being the one having the highest tally across all events.
