Trevor Storton
Trevor Storton (26 November 1949 – 23 March 2011) was an English footballer who played as a central defender. The early years He began his career at Tranmere Rovers, playing alongside his older brother Stan, he played over 100 games for the club between 1967 and 1972, when he joined Liverpool. Storton was one of a number of players signed by Liverpool manager Bill Shankly in the late 60s and early 70s, in an attempt to rebuild the team, but he struggled to gain a regular place in the first-team. He played ten games in his first-season, and was a regular fixture in the squad for the UEFA Cup campaign, which he ended with a winner's medal. The following season, he only made two appearances, and he was sold to Chester in 1974. Debenhams Cup
The Debenhams Cup was one of several short-lived football competitions introduced in the 1970s and 1980s, along with the Watney Cup, Texaco Cup, Anglo-Scottish Cup, the Super Cup and Full Members' Cup. It lasted for just two seasons ( 1976–77 and 1977–78) and was competed for between the two sides from outside the top two divisions of the Football League to have progressed furthest in the FA Cup. If teams had made the same stage of the competition, a system was in place (beginning with replay eliminations being superior to going out at the first attempt) to determine which two would play in the Debenhams Cup – one of the first sponsored competitions in English football. Neil Aspin
Neil Aspin (born 12 April 1965) is an English football manager and former player. A solid defender who could play at centre-back and right-back, he was a good marker and an adept tackler. He made his debut in the English Football League for Leeds United at the age of 16 in February 1982, which would be his only appearance in the First Division (first tier). He spent seven seasons in the Second Division (second tier) with the club, making 244 league and cup appearances and being named as the club's Player of the Year for the 1984–85 season. He was sold to Port Vale for a £150,000 fee in July 1989, and would go on to make 410 appearances in all competitions during a ten-season stay at Vale Park. He was named as the club's Player of the Year in the 1989–90 season and helped the "Valiants" to win the Football League Trophy in 1993. Neil Parsley Neil Robert Parsley (born 25 April 1966) is an English former professional footballer who played as a defender for Witton Albion, Leeds United, Chester City, Huddersfield Town, Doncaster Rovers, West Bromwich Albion and Exeter City. John McGrath (footballer Born 1938)
John Thomas McGrath (23 August 1938 – 25 December 1998) was an English footballer and manager in the Football League. He played as a defender, and started his career at Bury from 1955 to 1960. He then spent the next eight years with Newcastle United following a £24,000 transfer, helping them to the Second Division title in 1964–65. In 1968, he joined Southampton for a £30,000 fee, where he would spend the final six years of his playing career, although he also played briefly for Brighton & Hove Albion in 1973. In total he played 537 league and cup games in a nineteen-year career in the Football League, scoring six goals. Starting his management career at Port Vale in 1979, he won them promotion out of the Fourth Division in 1982–83. Following this he left to take the reins at Chester City in 1984. Oswestry Town Football Club was a football club from Shropshire, playing at Victoria Road. They joined the Birmingham League in 1924 and switched to the Cheshire County League in 1959.
