Trevor Leighton
Trevor Leighton (born 1957) is a Carlisle-born photographer whose work features in galleries, most notably the National Portrait Gallery, of which he has the largest number of photographs on display by a single photographer. Trevor is widely known for his celebrity and fashion work. Some of his clients include British stars Kate Bush, Dawn French, John Hurt, Bob Monkhouse, and Lisa Snowden and international stars such as Indian actress Kareena Kapoor. He is also known for his photography work for The Fairtrade Foundation, and has photographed stars Vic Reeves, Amanda Burton, Fearne Cotton, Richard Wilson, Harry Hill and others. Leighton is known to have authored a book called "The Jokers". Carlisle, Cumbria
Carlisle ( , ; from xcb, Caer Luel) is a city that lies within the Northern English county of Cumbria, south of the Scottish border at the confluence of the rivers Eden, Caldew and Petteril. It is the administrative centre of the City of Carlisle district which, (along with Cumbria County Council) will be replaced by Cumberland Council in April 2023. The city became an established settlement during the Roman Empire to serve forts on Hadrian's Wall. During the Middle Ages, the city was an important military stronghold due to its proximity to the Kingdom of Scotland. Carlisle Castle, still relatively intact, was built in 1092 by William Rufus, served as a prison for Mary, Queen of Scots in 1568 and now houses the Duke of Lancaster's Regiment and the Border Regiment Museum. Richard Wilson (Scottish Actor)
Richard Wilson (born Iain Carmichael Wilson; 9 July 1936) is a Scottish actor, theatre director and broadcaster. He is most famous for playing Victor Meldrew in the BBC sitcom ''One Foot in the Grave''. Another notable role was as Gaius, the court physician of Camelot, in the BBC drama '' Merlin''. Early life Wilson was born in Greenock, Scotland. He went to the Lady Alice Primary school in Greenock. He studied science subjects at Greenock Academy, then completed his National Service with the Royal Army Medical Corps, serving in Singapore. Career Wilson worked in a laboratory at Stobhill Hospital in Glasgow as a research assistant before switching to acting at age 27. The National Portrait Gallery (NPG) is an art gallery in London housing a collection of portraits of historically important and famous British people.
