Tres Lunas
''Tr3s Lunas'' is the 21st studio album by English musician and songwriter Mike Oldfield, released in June 2002 by Warner Music Spain. After his previous album ''The Millennium Bell'' (1999), Oldfield started work on his first release for MusicVR, a musical virtual reality project with simulator video game elements and music. The idea developed to have the ''Tres Lunas'' MusicVR feature included as part of an album package, for which Oldfield wrote and recorded new music and signed with Warner Music Spain. ''Tr3s Lunas'' saw Oldfield explore electronic and chill-out music. Background Title When translated from the Spanish language to English, the album name ''Tres Lunas'' is ''Three Moons''. This is reflected in the typeface on the album cover, with the letter 'e' being replaced with a numeric '3'. In music, a reprise ( , ; from the verb 'to resume') is the repetition or reiteration of the opening material later in a composition as occurs in the recapitulation of sonata form, though—originally in the 18th century—was simply any repeated section, such as is indicated by beginning and ending repeat signs. A partial or abbreviated reprise is known as a petite reprise ( , ). In Baroque music this usually occurs at the very end of a piece, repeating the final phrase with added ornamentation. ''Tubular Bells III'' is the eighteenth studio album by English guitarist, songwriter, and producer Mike Oldfield. It was released on 31 August 1998 by Warner Music UK and is the third installment in his ''Tubular Bells'' album series, following ''Tubular Bells'' (1973) and ''Tubular Bells II'' (1992). After relocating from England to the Spanish island of Ibiza, Oldfield started work on the album and gained inspiration to incorporate electronic music from the island's local bars and clubs. ''Incantations'' is the fourth studio album by English musician, songwriter, and producer Mike Oldfield, released on 1 December 1978 by Virgin Records. Following the release of his previous album ''Ommadawn'' (1975), Oldfield moved into a new home in Bisley, Gloucestershire, where he set up a new recording studio. He started on a follow-up in 1977 which took form as a double album with one, side-long track on each side of the LP record. Oldfield wished to use real incantations in the music, but ended up using folklore as a loose running theme, such as Dianna the Huntress. Though primarily instrumental, lyrical sections are adapted from works by poets Henry Longfellow and Ben Jonson. Sally Oldfield
Sally Patricia Oldfield (born 3 August 1947) is an Irish singer-songwriter. She is the sister of composers Mike and Terry Oldfield. Early life Born in Dublin, Ireland, Oldfield was raised in the Roman Catholic faith of her mother, Maureen. Spending her childhood in Reading, Berkshire, Oldfield studied ballet from the age of four and won numerous competitions in all styles of dance, including ballet, tap and modern. At the age of eleven, she won a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Dancing, then located in Holland Park, London, and two years later was starred to move on to the Royal Ballet School at White Lodge. However, she gave up ballet two years later, and achieved three A-Levels at Grade A. She studied classical piano to Grade 7.
