''Trenck'' (german: link=no, Trenck – Der Roman einer großen Liebe) is a 1932 German historical film directed by Ernst Neubach and Heinz Paul starring Hans Stüwe, Dorothea Wieck, and Olga Tschechowa. The film was based on a novel by Bruno Frank. It was shot at the Johannisthal Studios with sets designed by the art director Erich Czerwonski. Ernst Neubach
Ernst Neubach (3 January 1900 – 21 May 1968) was an Austrian screenwriter, producer and director. Biography Of Jewish descent, Neubach was a veteran of World War I, after which he worked as a master of ceremonies in Austria, Switzerland and Germany. He wrote lyrics for songs and over 2,000 hits, including ''I've lost my heart in Heidelberg'' (1925) and '' In Heaven There Is No Beer'' (1956). Successful operetta librettos include ''Gentleman Jack'' (Music: Carita by Horst). With the dawn of the talkie era, he began to write screenplays for musical comedies. After the Nazis seized power in 1933, Neubach lived mostly in Vienna. On 9 March 1937, he became a member of the Patriotic Front. After the Anschluss, Neubach emigrated to France. Friedrich Freiherr von der Trenck (16 February 1726 – 25 July 1794) was a Prussian officer, adventurer, and author. Coat of arms The coat of arms of the Trenck family depicts in red the head of a silver bull with golden tongue and golden horns. Below there are two golden stars. Friedrich Wilhelm Von Seydlitz
Friedrich Wilhelm Freiherr von Seydlitz (3 February 1721 – 8 November 1773) was a Prussian officer, lieutenant general, and among the greatest of the Prussian cavalry generals. He commanded one of the first Hussar squadrons of Frederick the Great's army and is credited with the development of the Prussian cavalry to its efficient level of performance in the Seven Years' War. Paul Hörbiger (29 April 1894 – 5 March 1981) was an Austrian theatre and film actor. Life and work Paul Hörbiger was born in the Hungarian capital Budapest, then part of Austria-Hungary, the son of engineer Hanns Hörbiger, founder of the ''Welteislehre'' cosmological concept, and elder brother of actor Attila Hörbiger. Frederick II (german: Friedrich II.; 24 January 171217 August 1786) was King in Prussia from 1740 until 1772, and King of Prussia from 1772 until his death in 1786.
