Tremaine Harris
Tremaine Harris (born February 10, 1992) is a Canadian track and field athlete who specializes in the sprint distances. He is of Jamaican descent and is fluent in English and French. His personal best for the 200 m (20.22 seconds) is the sixth fastest in Canadian history. He is coached by Anthony McCleary and Desai Williams. Early life Born in Toronto, Ontario, Harris attended several schools growing up across the Greater Toronto Area, such as Father Henry Carr Secondary School, Markham District High School, and Bur Oak Secondary School, to pursue his track career. Career Harris competed in his first international competition at the 2010 World Junior Championships in Athletics in the 400 m sprint. He competed in the 2011 Canadian Junior Track and Field Championships in the 200 m and 400 m events winning gold in both. Penn Relays
The Penn Relays (also Penn Relays Carnival) is the oldest and largest track and field competition in the United States, hosted annually since April 21, 1895 by the University of Pennsylvania at Franklin Field in Philadelphia. In 2012, there were 116 events run at the meet. More athletes run in the Penn Relays than at any other track and field meet in the world. It regularly attracts more than 15,000 participants from high schools, colleges, and track clubs throughout North America and abroad, notably Jamaica, competing in more than 300 events over five days. Historically, the event has been credited with popularizing the running of relay races. It is held during the last full week in April, ending on the last Saturday in April. Bur Oak Secondary School
Bur Oak Secondary School (BOSS) is a public secondary school in Markham, Ontario, Canada established in 2007, and is part of the York Region District School Board. The school was named after the road which it is built on, which in turn is named for the city of Markham's official tree, the Bur oak. IAAF World Junior Championships
The World Athletics U20 Championships is a biennial world championships for the sport of athletics organised by the World Athletics, contested by athletes in the under-20 athletics age category (19 years old or younger on 31 December in the year of the competition. The competition was launched as the IAAF World Junior Championships in Athletics in 1986 and renamed to IAAF World U20 Championships in November 2015. The men's 200 metres at the 2013 World Championships in Athletics was held at the Luzhniki Stadium on 16 and 17 August. In the final, Adam Gemili seemed to get the best start, but flanked by the Jamaican uniforms, he was quickly swallowed up. Mid way into the turn, Usain Bolt had a clear lead. Coming off the turn, Bolt had several meters on the field. The winner determined, Bolt eased off and cruised across the finish in what would be a great time for any other human being, just a slow 200 for Bolt in 19.66. Coming off the turn about even with Gemili and Nickel Ashmeade, Warren Weir out in lane 8 separated from those two and gained significantly on the slowing Bolt, setting a personal best of 19.79.
