Biography Born in West London, he was influenced in his youth by reading Roger Lancelyn Green’s Myths of the Norsemen, Barbara Leonie Picard’s retellings of the Iliad and Odyssey, and fantasy series including the Narnia, Middle Earth, Gormenghast, Earthsea, and Pern stories and Susan Cooper’s Britain. He frequently played Dungeons & Dragons at school. He continued to read fantasy at university. Treadwell became an academic specialising in 18th- and 19th-century British literature. Valentine Treadwell (c. 1813 – September 1, 1888 Potter's Hollow, Albany County, New York) was an American farmer and politician from New York. Life He was the son of Stephen Treadwell, a Quaker minister who removed to Potter's Hollow in 1816. He was Supervisor of the Town of Rensselaerville in 1845 an 1846. Timothy Treadwell (born Timothy William Dexter; April 29, 1957 – October 5, 2003) was an American bear enthusiast, environmentalist, documentary filmmaker, and founder of the bear-protection organization Grizzly People. He lived among coastal brown bears or grizzlies (''Ursus arctos'') in Katmai National Park, Alaska for 13 summers. Oscar Treadwell (born Arthur Pedersen) (May 11, 1926 - April 1, 2006) was an American jazz radio journalist and presenter. Known as "OT", he became known mainly by a dedication to him by Charlie Parker, a composition called "An Oscar for Treadwell". Treadwell's first jobs were as an industrial manager and consultant. He won the 2009 Grand National on Mon Mome at odds of 100/1, and also won the United House Gold Cup, Byrne Group Plate, and Grand Sefton Steeplechase races.
