Tre Demps
Delano Jerome "Tre" Demps III (born May 21, 1993) is a former American professional basketball player and current basketball analyst. He played college basketball at Northwestern. Early life and high school Demps was born in Portland, Oregon to Serene Wilson and Dell Demps. He grew up in the East Bay Area of California as a child, but moved frequently due to the elder Demps' career as a professional basketball player and executive. He eventually settled in San Antonio, Texas after Dell was named the director of player development by the San Antonio Spurs. He attended and played basketball at Ronald Reagan High School and was named All-State twice. After averaging 19 points and four assists per game as a junior, Demps committed Northwestern over offers from Minnesota and Colorado. NBA Summer League
The NBA Summer League, also known as the Las Vegas Summer League, is an off-season competition organized by the National Basketball Association. NBA teams come together to try out different summer rosters instead of their regular season line-ups, including rookie, sophomore and G League affiliate players. The Portsmouth Invitational Tournament, (PIT), is the oldest amateur basketball tournament in the United States and the only postseason camp restricted to college basketball seniors. The Portsmouth Invitational is the first of two NBA pre-draft camps, the other being the Orlando pre-draft camp. In 2019, SB Ballard construction was the lead sponsor of the uniforms as they began to expand into building arenas around the country. It was announced on March 14, 2020, the 68 annual Portsmouth Invitational Tournament was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. Redshirt, in United States college athletics, is a delay or suspension of an athlete's participation in order to lengthen their period of eligibility. Typically, a student's athletic eligibility in a given sport is four seasons, aligning with the four years of academic classes typically required to earn a bachelor's degree at an American college or university. However, in a redshirt year, student athletes may attend classes at the college or university, practice with an athletic team, and "suit up" (wear a team uniform) for play – but they may compete in only a limited number of games (see " Use of status" section).
