Travel is the movement of people between distant geographical locations. Travel can be done by foot, bicycle, automobile, train, boat, bus, airplane, ship or other means, with or without luggage, and can be one way or round trip. Travel can also include relatively short stays between successive movements, as in the case of tourism. Etymology The origin of the word "travel" is most likely lost to history. According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, the first known use of the word ''travel'' was in the 14th century. It also states that the word comes from Middle English , (which means to torment, labor, strive, journey) and earlier from Old French (which means to work strenuously, toil). Keyboard Technology
The technology of computer keyboards includes many elements. Among the more important of these is the switch technology that they use. Computer alphanumeric keyboards typically have 80 to 110 durable switches, generally one for each key. The choice of switch technology affects key response (the positive feedback that a key has been pressed) and pre-travel (the distance needed to push the key to enter a character reliably). Virtual keyboards on touch screens have no physical switches and provide audio and haptic feedback instead. Some newer keyboard models use hybrids of various technologies to achieve greater cost savings or better ergonomics. The modern keyboard also includes a control processor and indicator lights to provide feedback to the user (and to the central processor) about what state the keyboard is in. Plug and play technology means that its 'out of the box' layout can be notified to the system, making the keyboard immediately ready to use without need for further ... Travel (magazine)
''Travel Holiday'' was an American magazine title born in 1977 when the publisher of ''Travel'' acquired ''Holiday'' magazine and merged the titles. The magazine ceased publication in 2003. ''Travel Holiday'' had its origins in ''The Four-Track News'', a creation of New York Central railroad publicist George H. Daniels, and published by the railroad from 1901 to 1906. As Daniels approached retirement, ''The Four-Track News'' became ''The Travel Magazine'' in a large format under a new publisher, Travel Bureau, Inc. In 1910, Travel Bureau, Inc. folded and its sole product was taken over by the McBride publishing house which soon shortened its title to ''Travel.'' The successful promoter of ''House and Garden'', McBride promised a worldwide scope and more photography in a magazine directed both at those who could afford to travel and those who could not. In the 1920s and '30s, ''Travel'' was noted for the artwork commissioned for its covers. McBride went bankrupt in 1948 and ... Traveling is also called, predominantly in a streetball game, "walking" or "steps". If the pivot foot is lifted, a pass or try for made basket must be made before the pivot foot is replaced to the floor. In the NBA and FIBA, players are also given a "gather step". In the NBA and FIBA, when a player has taken more than two steps without the ball being dribbled, a traveling violation is called. The NCAA and NFHS do not allow two steps. In 2018, FIBA revised the rule so that one can take a "gather step" before taking the two steps. A travel can also be called via carrying or an unestablished pivot foot. If the pivot foot of a player changes or moves, it is considered traveling. In basketball Definitions NCAA Rule 9, Section 5. Traveling Art. 1. A player shall not travel with the ball. Art. 2.
