Albert Trapp
Albert Friedrich Trapp (died January 9, 1953) was a politician in Manitoba, Canada. He served in the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba from 1951 until his death. Trapp was the son of Wilhelm Trapp, a German immigrant. In 1913, he married Charlotte Arnhold. He served on the council for the Rural Municipality of Brokenhead, also serving as reeve, was a school trustee and helped found the Brokenhead Agricultural Society. Trapp was elected to the Manitoba legislature in a by-election held in St. Clements on October 24, 1950, following the death of the previous member, Nicholas Stryk. He easily defeated candidates from the Cooperative Commonwealth Federation and Labour Progressive Party, and served as a backbench supporter of Douglas Campbell's government. The Trapp Family (also known as the von Trapp Family) were a singing group formed from the family of former Austrian naval commander Georg von Trapp. The family achieved fame in their original singing career in their native Austria during the interwar period. They also performed in the United States before emigrating there permanently to escape the deteriorating situation in Austria during World War II. In the United States, they became well known as the "Trapp Family Singers" until they ceased to perform as a unit in 1957. Trapp Family Austrian Relief, Inc. is an initiative founded by Georg von Trapp and Maria von Trapp of the famous Austrian singing family, the Trapp Family. History In January 1947, Major General Harry J. Collins turned to Georg von Trapp and Maria von Trapp in Stowe, Vermont, pleading for help for the Austrian people, having seen the residents of Salzburg suffer when he had arrived there with the famed 42nd Rainbow Division after World War II. A flood basalt (or plateau basalt) is the result of a giant volcanic eruption or series of eruptions that covers large stretches of land or the ocean floor with basalt lava. Trapp, Carmarthenshire
Trap (or Trapp in English spelling) is a hamlet in the county of Carmarthenshire in southwest Wales, located on the western border of the Brecon Beacons National Park, around four miles southeast of the town of Llandeilo. It is unclear whether the name – which often appears as Trapp on maps, although the spelling with a single ''p'' is generally preferred locally – refers to a fish-trap, a water-trap ( mill-leat), or, given that the village is in Cwm Lladron ("robbers' valley"), an ambush point. The Afon Cennen flows through the village and is bridged there by the road from Ffairfach to Drefach. One mile to the east, and visible from the village, are the remains of Carreg Cennen Castle, whilst to the south is the rocky Carreg Dwfn, the westernmost hill of the national park. Brian Callison (born 1934) is a British novelist known for his best-selling thrillers and sea stories Nautical fiction, frequently also naval fiction, sea fiction, naval adventure fiction or maritime fiction, is a genre of literature with a setting on or near the sea, that focuses on the human relationship to the sea and sea voyages and highligh .... Lilian von Trapp (born 1987) is a German jewellery designer and anti-mining activist. Biography Von Trapp was born in 1987. She was raised in Berlin. She studied law before working as a designer. Von Trapp became interested in jewellery making after she inherited her mother's collection. She founded her own label in 2016, working exclusively with recycled gold and vintage diamonds in order to combat the mining industry.
