Transport In Badalona
Public transport in Badalona (Catalonia, Spain) consists of a variety of services operated by several companies, most of them associated with Autoritat del Transport Metropolità, the main transport authority of the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona. At just over 220,000 inhabitants, Badalona is one of Catalonia's most populated towns, and is located immediately next to the capital Barcelona, along the Mediterranean Sea coastline. It is both a dormitory town and a developed city in itself, which makes the proper articulation of transport of vital importance. Barcelona Metro stations The branch of L2 serving Badalona was first part of L4. Handover took place in the 1990s, when the construction of L2 took place. The long-announced L10 is currently under construction, but the stations located within the municipality of Badalona, along with some in Barcelona, are already operative as of 2010. Badalona Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona Metro)
Badalona Pompeu Fabra is the name of a Barcelona Metro station in downtown Badalona, a municipality in the metropolitan area of Barcelona, served by metro line L2, and its northern terminus. Saveguarded plans for the extension of L1 also include this station. It's named after Pompeu Fabra, grammarian and political figure. If the project is finally approved, it will be part of L13 as well. Construction started in October 2005 and was initially expected to be opened in 2007 under the working name ''Badalona Centre''. Palau Municipal d'Esports de Badalona (also known as the Pavelló Olímpic de Badalona) is an arena in the Gorg area of Badalona, Catalonia, Spain. The arena holds 12,760 people, and it is primarily used for basketball, though it is also an habitual home for music concerts and other municipal events. Trambesòs
Trambesòs () is a tram– light rail system in the Spanish autonomous community of Catalonia that links the Barcelona district of Sant Martí with Badalona and Sant Adrià de Besòs. Its name comes from the union of the words "tram", an abbreviation of the Catalan word for "tram" (''tramvia''), and "Besòs", the name of an area in the north of the Barcelonès region dominated by the Besòs River. The first section of Trambesòs was opened on 8 May 2004 as part of route T4 and since its opening it has undergone several extensions, the last of which took place on 15 June 2008 with the creation of route T6 between Sant Adrià de Besòs railway station and Gorg metro station in Badalona. Rodalies de Catalunya (, ; "Commuter Rail of Catalonia") is the main commuter and regional rail system in the Spanish autonomous community of Catalonia. It is administered by the Government of Catalonia and operated by the national rail operator Renfe Operadora. Pep Ventura is the name of a Barcelona metro station located in the municipality of Badalona, in the metropolitan area of Barcelona, and served by L2. It was the northern terminus of that line until 2010, when it was extended into the town centre and into the station Badalona Pompeu Fabra. It was opened in 1985, then as part of L4, which had been extended to there from La Pau. In 2002, though, that branch became part of L2. This station is located under Avinguda del Marquès de Mont-roig, next to Plaça Pep Ventura, in Badalona. Llefià (Barcelona Metro)
Llefià is a Barcelona Metro station named after the neighbourhood of the same name where the station is situated, near Llefià Market, in Badalona municipality. This neighbourhood is one of Badalona's with highest population density and built in a very uneven piece of land. The station was opened on 18 April 2010 with the opening of the line from Gorg to Bon Pastor. It is served by TMB-operated Barcelona Metro line L10. Layout The station is located under the intersection between Ronda Sant Antoni de Llefià and Avinguda d'Amèrica and it was built like many other new L9/L10 metro stations with a 32-meter depth and 26 meter diameter well.
