The Nein
The Nein is an indie rock band from Durham, North Carolina, and is composed of former members of The White Octave, Steel Pole Bath Tub, and Piedmont Charisma. The band is signed to the Canadian label Sonic Unyon. Biography Finn Cohen, Robert Biggers, and Casey Burns formed the group in early 2003 in Durham, North Carolina. After self-releasing a handful of EPs, the band signed to Sonic Unyon and released their self-titled debut EP. Dale Flattum joined the group in 2004 and the group released their full-length album, '' Wrath of Circuits'' in 2005 on Sonic Unyon (with a vinyl version release on Red Strings Records later that year). Burns left the group in early 2006, and the group began work on new material and future touring with Josh Carpenter (of Asheville, North Carolina). Bass Guitar
The bass guitar, electric bass or simply bass (), is the lowest-pitched member of the string family. Rate Your Music (often abbreviated to RYM) is an online collaborative database of music releases and films. Users can catalog items from their personal collection, review them, and assign ratings in a five-star rating system. The site also features community-based charts that track highest-rated releases. History Rate Your Music was founded on December 24, 2000, by Seattle resident Hossein Sharifi, who is still active on the site under the username "sharifi". The first version of the site, "RYM 1.0," allowed users to rate and catalog releases, as well as to write reviews, create lists and add artists and releases to the database. Over time, other features were added, like cover art, a forum section and private messaging. Casey Burns
Casey Burns (born 1975) is an American-born graphic illustrator, screen printer, rock poster artist, musician, and advertising art director. He was a founding member of The Nein, a member of LD Beghtol's LD&CO and was at one time a member of The Rosebuds. Early life Burns was born in Hendersonville, North Carolina. In grammar school, he started replicating the logos of his favorite bands, including Van Halen and the Dead Kennedys. While he was in high school, he self-published zines and mini-comics. He was a Morehead Scholar at the University of North Carolina where he received a degree in journalism in 1998. While a student at UNC, he became involved with the local music scene as both a musician and poster artist. In 1996, he was a bartender at the music venue Cat's Cradle. Indie Pop
Indie pop (also typeset as indie-pop or indiepop) is a music genre and subculture that combines guitar pop with DIY ethic in opposition to the style and tone of mainstream pop music.
