Trang Province
Trang (, ; ), also called ''Mueang Thap Thiang'', is one of the southern Provinces of Thailand, provinces (''changwat'') of Thailand, on the west side of the Malay Peninsula facing the Strait of Malacca. Neighboring provinces are (from north clockwise) Krabi province, Krabi, Nakhon Si Thammarat province, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung province, Phatthalung, and Satun province, Satun. Trang was formerly a port involved in foreign trade. It was the first place where rubber was planted in Thailand. Phraya Ratsadanupradit Mahison Phakdi brought rubber saplings from Malaya and planted them here in 1899, and rubber is now an important export of the country. The Trang River flows through the province from its origin in the Khao Luang mountain range, and the Palian River flows from the Banthat mountains. Thesaban nakhon Trang ( (translated as Trang city municipality)), City of Trang, or Trang (, ), also called Mueang Thap Thiang (), is a ''thesaban nakhon'' (city municipality) and the capital of Trang Province, Thailand. The city has a population of 59,637 (2005) and covers the whole ''tambon'' Thap Thiang of Mueang Trang district. Trang is 839 km south of Bangkok. Geography Trang lies on the Trang River, roughly halfway between the Tenasserim Hills and the coast of the Andaman Sea. Climate Trang has a tropical monsoon climate (Köppen climate classification ''Am''). At just 8°N, the temperature in Trang is sees little variation throughout the year, although the pre-monsoon months from February to April are a little hotter in the daytime. The year is divided into a short dry season, from January to February, and a long wet season from March to December, with the heaviest rain in September. Trang Railway Station
Trang railway station is a railway station located in Thap Thiang Subdistrict, Trang City, Trang. The station is a class 1 railway station and is located from Thon Buri railway station. The station opened in April 1913 on the Southern Line section Kantang– Huai Yot. Trang Station is the alighting point for easier access to islands in the Andaman Sea. The station building has been in use since 1913 until it was demolished and rebuilt in 1969 until now. As a result of the establishment of a railway station in 1913, the surrounding area has built various buildings such as hotels or shophouses on Rama VI Road, the first official road of the Trang. Trang River
The Trang River () is one of main rivers of Trang Province apart from Palian River. The Trang River has two origins, the first one is in Khao Luang, a summit of Nakhon Si Thammarat Range, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. The second one is in Krabi Province, both courses southward and confluence at Banthat Range in Phatthalung Province before flowing into Trang Province. In the province of Trang, it flows through various districts as follows: Ratsada, Huai Yot, Wang Wiset, Na Yong, Kantang and the south-east of Mueang Trang.
