Trandumskogen is a forest located in Ullensaker, Akershus county, Norway. It was the site of one of the first discoveries in May 1945 of Nazi Germany, German mass graves in Norway. The German executioner Oskar Hans was the officer in command of the unit performing the executions. In total 173 Norwegians, 6 United Kingdom, British and 15 Soviet Union, Soviet citizens were Execution, executed in Trandumskogen. Many had been sentenced to death by the German occupation forces, but there was also a great number who were subject to arbitrary executions. After the World War II, Second World War, Norwegian citizens sentenced for treason, and leading members of the Norwegian national socialist party ''Nasjonal Samling'' were forced to open the graves and exhume the bodies of the executed prisoners. Georg Waaler
Georg Waaler (21 March 1895 – 27 February 1983) was a Norwegian physician, a professor of forensic medicine, and chairman of the Norwegian Board of Forensic Medicine. Personal life Waaler was born in Hamar on 21 March 1895 to physician Peder Ferdinand Waaler and musician Fredrikke Amalie Holtemann Rynning, and was a brother of Rolf and Erik Waaler. In 1920 he married Sophie Amalie Koller. Career Waaler was appointed professor in forensic medicine at the University of Oslo from 1938 to 1965. Frank Bakke-Jensen
Frank Bakke-Jensen (born 8 March 1965 in Båtsfjord) is a Norwegian politician for the Conservative Party. He served as minister of defence from 2017 to 2021, and minister of European affairs from 2016 to 2017. He was mayor of Båtsfjord from 2007 until his election to the Storting from Finnmark in 2009. Bakke-Jensen formerly worked as a ship's electrician between Hammerfest and Tromsø, and has also worked as a teacher and self-employed pilot at Båtsfjord Airport. Viken (county)
Viken is a county under disestablishment in Eastern Norway that was established on 1 January 2020 by the merger of Akershus, Buskerud and Østfold with the addition of three other municipalities. Viken was controversial from the onset, with an approval rating of about 20% in the region, and the merger was resisted by all the three counties. Viken has been compared to gerrymandering. The county executive of Viken determined in 2019, before the merger had taken effect, that the county's disestablishment is its main political goal, and the formal process to dissolve Viken was initiated by the county executive in right after the 2021 Norwegian parliamentary election in which parties seeking to reverse the merger won a majority. The Norwegian Defence Estates Agency ( no, Forsvarsbygg) is a Norwegian government agency responsible for the real estate belonging to the Military of Norway. It is not part of the military operations, but is instead directly subordinate to the Norwegian Ministry of Defence, and established on January 1, 2002. Arne Laudal
Arne Laudal (25 September 1892 – 9 May 1944) was a Norwegian military officer, Milorg pioneer and resistance fighter during World War II. He was arrested by the Germans, sentenced to death and executed. Early life and career Born in Holum, Vest-Agder, Arne Laudal was the son of Bent Løvdal and his wife Ragnhild. He finished his secondary education at Kristiansand Cathedral School in 1916, and attended the Norwegian Military Academy ( no, Krigsskolen), graduating in 1918. He married teacher Helga Stray in 1925. In 1930 he received the rank of captain, and headed a school for non-commissioned officers for nine years. Harald Andreas Gerotti Slåttelid (20 January 1895 – 1 March 1943) was a Norwegian trade unionist, newspaper editor and communist resistance member. He was born in Os, Hordaland, to a father from Volda and a mother from Fana. He worked in Odda, and married Sigrid Johansen from Kristiania here in 1918. They had three children. He was a member of the Norwegian Labour Party from 1909, and was organized in a union from 1911. He had a modest technical education. He chaired the local trade union from 1922, and was a board member of the Norwegian Union of Electricians from 1922 to 1923. Ottar Lie
Ottar Lie (5 March 1896 – 1 March 1943) was a Norwegian communist and resistance member. He was born in Løten, to a father from Vang and a mother from Ås. He was married twice, last to Inga, née Knutsen. He had two children, and lived in Oslo. He was originally a member of the Norwegian Labour Party. In 1921 he was hired as county secretary in Hedmark. At the time he was also active in the Young Communist League (until 1923 the Labour Party youth wing). In 1923, at the founding of the Communist Party, Lie became Hedmark's representative in the central board. He continued as party secretary in Hedmark until 1927, then in Oslo for the party nationwide. Before it was stopped in 1940, Lie was also a board member of the newspaper ''Arbeideren''. Bjarne Dalland
Bjarne Dalland (27 August 1906 – 1 March 1943) was a Norwegian trade unionist, politician and communist resistance member. Dalland was born in Bergen as the son of Christoffer Dalland from Manger, Norway, Manger and Ingeborg Tvedt from Meland. He married Birgith Hansen from Bergen in 1933. They had two children. His brother Randulf Dalland was a member of the Parliament of Norway from List of members of Stortinget 1945-1949, 1945. His brother Thorvald Einar Dalland, born 1908, perished with the ship ''Blia'' while trying to escape to the United Kingdom in 1941. From 1929 to 1930 he led the Young Communist League of Norway. Granite () is a coarse-grained (phaneritic) intrusive igneous rock composed mostly of quartz, alkali feldspar, and plagioclase. It forms from magma with a high content of silica and alkali metal oxides that slowly cools and solidifies underground. Per Palle Storm (1 December 1910 – 6 January 1994) was a Danish-born Norwegian sculptor and professor at the Norwegian National Academy of Fine Arts. Biography He was born in Copenhagen and was raised in Argentina. He was the son of Hans Peter Blix Storm and Ellen von Müllen. His father was a businessman who served as a Norwegian Consul. Storm grew up in Buenos Aires where he was a student of the sculptors Bartolome Tasso and Urbici Soler (1927–29). He studied at the Norwegian National Academy of Fine Arts under Wilhelm Rasmussen (1930–33). He also studied art in Germany, Spain, France and Italy.
