Trance Visionary
''Trance Visionary'' is an electronic-based dance studio album by rock band Wishbone Ash recorded during 1996. Their 18th overall. It features techno and dance collaborations between band leader Andy Powell and electronica guru Mike Bennett (Writer-Producer), Mike Bennett. The album received mixed reactions among Wishbone Ash fans upon its release but became a hit in underground dance circles: several of the songs appeared on the Top 100 dance charts in the United Kingdom. It featured Powell alongside brand new members guitarist Mark Birch (musician), Mark Birch and bassist Bob Skeat, as well as returning drummer Ray Weston. Early editions featured a "Limited Edition Bonus CD" featuring 4 remixes of tracks on the album. Wishbone Ash
Wishbone Ash are a British rock band who achieved success in the early and mid-1970s. Their popular albums included ''Wishbone Ash'' (1970), ''Pilgrimage'' (1971), '' Argus'' (1972), ''Wishbone Four'' (1973), ''There's the Rub'' (1974), and ''New England'' (1976). Wishbone Ash are noted for their extensive use of harmony twin lead guitars, which had been attracting electric blues bands since Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page had played together in the Yardbirds in 1966. Trance is a genre of electronic dance music that emerged from the British new-age music scene and the early 1990s German techno and hardcore scenes. Trance music is characterized by a tempo generally lying between 135–150 beats per minute (BPM), repeating melodic phrases and a musical form that distinctly builds tension and elements throughout a track often culminating in 1 to 2 "peaks" or "drops". Invisible Hands Music
Invisible Hands Music is a UK-based independent record label. The label is owned and run entirely by Charles Kennedy who started out by self-releasing cassettes sold at gigs by his first band 'Night World' in 1987. The first CD release was ''Fretwork Southeast'', a compilation album of local bands from Southwest London in 1993. After three more CDs in the series, and an eponymous debut album by Kennedy's alias The Aries Project, the label moved into signing legacy artists starting with Wishbone Ash, and singer-songwriter, Rob Reynolds. Mike Bennett (Writer-Producer)
Mike Bennett (born 1962 in Cheltenham, England) is a British writer and record producer. His first involvement with the music industry came when he was asked to write and produce Toyah Wilcox's ''Dreamchild'' and "Out of the Blue". The songs were released on Cryptic Records and featured collaborations. Career Early years Bennett has been writing since he was 16 and received his first commission for the BBC at the age of 17 from producer Ted Beston. During this period, he wrote for Playground (BBC Radio 1 & BBC Radio 2) and Show (Radio 1). Andy Powell
Andrew Powell (born 19 February 1950) is an English guitarist, singer and songwriter. He is a founding member of the British band Wishbone Ash, whose use of twin lead guitars was influential. Early life and career Powell was born in the East End of London and grew up in the new town of Hemel Hempstead, some north-west of London. He first played guitar at the age of 11, inspired by rock and beat bands such as The Shadows. Powell, unable to muster funds to buy a brand-new guitar, made a Les Paul-style guitar himself, and began to play in London-based bands such as The Dekois and The Sugar Band. Mark Birch (musician)
Mark Birch is an English guitarist, best known for his work with rock band Wishbone Ash. Musical career Birch spent much of his musical career gigging in the West Midlands, including playing in bands with Neville MacDonald of Skin. In the late 1990s, bandmate Bob Skeat recommended Birch to Andy Powell when a guitarist vacancy appeared.
