Tramore Athletic F.C. is an List of association football clubs in the Republic of Ireland, Irish association football club based in Douglas, County Cork. Their senior men's team currently plays in the Munster Senior League (association football), Munster Senior League. The club has previously played in the Cork Athletic Union League. Munster Senior League (association Football)
The Munster Senior League is an association football league organised by the Munster Football Association. It organises seven divisions as well as various cup competitions. Its Senior Division is a third level division in the Republic of Ireland football league system. Munster Senior League teams also compete in the Munster Senior Cup, the FAI Cup, the FAI Intermediate Cup and the FAI Junior Cup. In recent seasons the winners of the Senior Division have qualified to play in the League of Ireland Cup. Despite using the Munster name in its title, the vast majority of its member clubs are based in County Cork. Derek Kavanagh (born 29 October 1980 in Tony Ville, High Street, Cork (city), Cork, Irish people, Ireland) is an Irish people, Irish sportsperson. The Cork County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) ( ga, Cumann Luthchleas Gael Coiste Contae Chorcaí) or Cork GAA is one of the 32 county boards of the GAA in Ireland, and is responsible for Gaelic games in County Cork and the Cork county teams. Noel O'Mahony
Noel O'Mahony (18 December 1939 – 30 May 2013) was a former League of Ireland footballer and manager. As a player, he won the 1970–71 League of Ireland title with Cork Hibernians and as manager he won the 1992–93 League of Ireland Premier Division with Cork City. Family and early years O'Mahony was the son of Nora and Timothy O'Mahony and he grew up on Pearse Road in the Ballyphehane district of Cork. Two of his brothers were also League of Ireland footballers. Like Noel, Declan also played for Cork Hibernians while Pat played for Cork Celtic. Noel and Pat O'Mahony both attended Coláiste Chríost Rí where Noel initially played Gaelic football before switching to association football. The League of Ireland ( ga, Sraith na hÉireann), together with the Football Association of Ireland, is one of the two main governing bodies responsible for organising association football in the Republic of Ireland. The term was originally used to refer to a single division league. However today the League of Ireland features five divisions – the Premier Division, the First Division, U19 Division, U17 Division, U15 Division and starting U13 Division. The League of Ireland has always worked closely with the FAI and in 2006 the two bodies formally merged. Donal Leahy
Donal Leahy (31 August 1938 – 31 December 2015) was an Irish footballer. Leahy started his career as a wing-half playing with his home town club Evergreen and on 15 September 1956 scored on his debut in a 3–1 League of Ireland Shield defeat to Shamrock Rovers at Glenmalure Park. He came to Evergreen's notice after starring for Munster Youths against West Germany Youths at The Mardyke in May 1956. Leahy turned down Aston Villa and Blackburn in 1957 to remain in Cork. Manager Tommy Moroney switched him to a striking role which proved to be an inspired move as he was top scorer in the League of Ireland three seasons running from the 1956-57 League of Ireland season to the 1958-59 League of Ireland season. The League of Ireland XI, more recently referred to as the ''Airtricity League XI'' for sponsorship reasons, is the representative team of the League of Ireland, the national association football league of the Republic of Ireland. For much of its history, the League of Ireland XI has effectively acted as a reserve or B team to the senior Republic of Ireland national team, providing international representative honours to home-based players. Graham Rickard Cummins (born 29 December 1987) is a retired Irish footballer. Playing career Early career Cummins played the majority of his schoolboy football with Tramore Athletic and also had a spell with College Corinthians. Cobh Ramblers Cummins joined Cobh Ramblers in 2006 and achieved promotion with them in his second season under Stephen Henderson. He scored 11 league goals as Cobh won the First Division, and he was named in the PFAI First Division Team of the Year. He continued to play for Cobh in the Premier Division in 2008, but they were relegated that year. Waterford United After Cobh were relegated from the league the following season, Cummins moved onto Waterford United, where he again linked up with Stephen Henderson, former Cobh Ramblers manager.
