Traian T. Coșovei
Traian T. Coșovei (; 28 November 1954 – 1 January 2014) was a Romanian poet. He was a member of the Writers' Union of Romania. The son of writer Traian Coșovei and Maria Urdăreanu, he graduated from the Department of Romanian Language and Literature of the University of Bucharest in 1978. He wrote a thesis on the Beat Generation. A so-called "80s Generation" writer, he was a member of the "Monday Literary Circle" led by Nicolae Manolescu, and of the literary circle led by Ovid S. Crohmălniceanu. Coșovei's literary debut came in 1978 with the publication of a story in the magazine ''Literary Romania''. The following year, he began editing the ''Romanian Paper''. In 1980 he became a member of the Writers' Union of Romania. In 1996 he was appointed in the National Museum of Romanian Literature, Bucharest, a job he held until his death. Adevărul
''Adevărul'' (; meaning "The Truth", formerly spelled ''Adevĕrul'') is a Romanian daily newspaper, based in Bucharest. Founded in Iași, in 1871, and reestablished in 1888, in Bucharest, it was the main left-wing press venue to be published during the Romanian Kingdom's existence, adopting an independent pro- democratic position, advocating land reform, and demanding universal suffrage. Under its successive editors Alexandru Beldiman and Constantin Mille, it became noted for its virulent criticism of King Carol I. This stance developed into a republican and socialist agenda, which made ''Adevărul'' clash with the Kingdom's authorities on several occasions. The Writers' Union of Romania (), founded in March 1949, is a professional association of writers in Romania. It also has a subsidiary in Chișinău, Republic of Moldova. The Writers' Union of Romania was created by the communist regime by taking over the former Romanian Writers' Society (''Societatea Scriitorilor Români''), which had been established in 1908. The Union organizes the annual Days and Nights of Literature Festival, and the awarding of the prestigious Ovid Prize for Literature. Pūblius Ovidius Nāsō (; 20 March 43 BC – 17/18 AD), known in English as Ovid ( ), was a Roman poet who lived during the reign of Augustus. He was a contemporary of the older Virgil and Horace, with whom he is often ranked as one of the three canonical poets of Latin literature. Nicolae Manolescu
Nicolae Manolescu (; b. 27 November 1939, Râmnicu Vâlcea) is a Romanian literary critic. As an editor of ''România Literară'' literary magazine, he has reached a record in reviewing books for almost 30 years. Elected a corresponding member of the Romanian Academy in 1997, he was upgraded to titular member in 2013. During the civil unrest of the 1960s, because of critical opinions voiced against Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej and the Romanian Communist regime, he was expelled from the University of Bucharest, where he was studying philology. After the Romanian Revolution of 1989, he was a founding member of the Civic Alliance (AC) in November 1990, and, after July 1991, began a political career as leader of the minor Civic Alliance Party (PAC), a group that had split from the Alliance to pursue a more political activism, being its candidate for presidency in the 1992 elections; Manolescu subsequently represented the party in the Senate.
