Tragic Story With Happy Ending
''Tragic Story with Happy Ending'' (French: ''Histoire tragique avec fin heureuse'') is a 2005 animated short by Regina Pessoa. To make the 7 minute 43 second film, Pessoa's drawings were transferred to glossy paper, brushed with India ink, scratched with a blade to give the effect of an engraving, then photographed. National Film Board of Canada film composer Normand Roger supplied the score for the film. The film was the second in a trilogy of animated shorts by Pessoa about childhood, between ''A Noite'' (1999) and ''Kali the Little Vampire''. Reception ''Tragic Story with Happy Ending'' has received numerous awards, becoming one of Portugal's most acclaimed animated films. Regina Pessoa
Regina Maria Póvoa Pessoa Martins (born 16 December 1969) is a Portuguese animator. Biography Regina Pessoa was born in Coimbra, but lived in a village near the city until she was seventeen. Without a TV, she spent her time reading, listening to the older ones telling stories and also painting her grandmother's house doors and walls using charcoal, encouraged by her uncle. She graduated in painting from University of Porto in 1998 and during her time as a student took part in different animation workshops, having participated in Espace Projets (Annecy, 1995) with the short ''A Noite'', which she would finish in 1999. In 1992 she started working in Filmógrafo - Estúdio de Cinema de Animação do Porto, where she collaborated as animator in various films. Folimage is a French animation studio, based in Bourg-lès-Valence, Drôme, France. It was founded in 1981 by Jacques-Rémy Girerd. The studio produces animation films for cinema and TV (short films, TV specials and series, feature films). In 1999, the company founded an animation school, La Poudrière, also in Valence.
