Tracy Quint
Tracy Quint is an American politician from Hodgdon, Maine. She is currently serving in the Maine House of Representatives from the 8th district, having first been elected in 2020 from the Republican Party. Career Quint is a registered nurse. In September 2020, incumbent Representative Gregory Swallow withdrew from the race for the Maine House of Representatives seat from the 144th district after winning the Republican primary unopposed. Tracy Quint announced that she would seek the seat instead in early October, running as a Republican. Her platform emphasized combatting obesity, support for small businesses, and support for the Second Amendment. Quint won the election, defeating Democrat Kathryn Harnish with 68 percent of the vote. In March 2021, Quint introduced a bill that would ban mandates of the COVID-19 vaccine in Maine until 2024. Hodgdon is a rural town in Aroostook County, Maine, United States. The town borders the province of New Brunswick, Canada to the east and Houlton to the north. Hodgdon's population was 1,290 at the 2020 census. History Hodgdon was incorporated in 1821. It was named for John Hodgdon, an early proprietor originally from Weare, New Hampshire. The town was mainly settled by Scotch-Irish immigrants from Northern Ireland. Hodgdon is located on the Canadian border in Southern Aroostook County and is known for its scenic views and vast farmland. A substantial portion of the Lt. The Maine House of Representatives is the lower house of the Maine Legislature. The House consists of 151 voting members and three nonvoting members. The voting members represent an equal number of districts across the state and are elected via plurality voting. The nonvoting members represent three of Maine's Native American tribes, though two tribes have declined to send representatives. Each voting member of the House represents around 9,000 citizens of the state.
