Tracy Grant Lord
Tracy Grant Lord is a leading New Zealand scenographer and costume designer of ballet, theatre and opera. She has worked with numerous Australasian performance companies including the Royal New Zealand Ballet, New Zealand Opera, Australian Ballet, Opera Australia, Queensland Ballet as well as the Auckland, Sydney, Melbourne and Queensland Theatre Companies. Biography Grant Lord graduated with a degree in Spatial Design from Auckland University of Technology in 1996. She was 23 when she designed my first opera. In 2011 she was nominated for Best Costume Design for the 11th Helpmann Awards and in 2012 she was nominated in the same category for the 12th Helpmann Awards. Scenographer
A scenographer or production designer, develops the appearance of a stage design, a TV or movie set, a gaming environment, a trade fair exhibition design or a museum experience exhibition design. The term originated in theater. A scenographer works together with the theater director to make the message come through in the best way they think possible, the director having the leading role and responsibility particularly for dramatic aspects - such as casting, acting, and direction - and the scenographer primarily responsible for the visual aspects or "look" of the production - which often includes scenery or sets, lighting, and costumes, and may include projections or other aspects. Regent On Broadway
The Regent on Broadway is a large theatre in Palmerston North, New Zealand, named so because it is the Regent Theatre on Broadway Avenue. History Designed in 1929 by Charles Holingshed of Sydney, the theatre complex was officially opened to the public on 4 July 1930. Its original use was as a cinema and opera house, but, with the decline of the movie over the decades, the Regent closed in 1991. However, the public response was so great, that, in 1993, Palmerston North City Council agreed to contribute the sum of $10,000,000, followed by a community donation of $1,700,000, and $1,000,000 from New Zealand Lotteries Grant Board. The auditorium has painted panels on the roof, all of which were cleaned during the renovations of the 1990s. Liam Scarlett (8 April 198616 April 2021) was a British choreographer who was an artist in residence with The Royal Ballet and artistic associate with Queensland Ballet. ''Guys and Dolls'' is a musical with music and lyrics by Frank Loesser and book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows. Raymond Hawthorne
Raymond Benjamin Thomas Hawthorne (born 3 May 1936) is a New Zealand theatre director, and is regarded as one of the country's most senior performing arts practitioners. Loughlan Prior is a dancer and choreographer based in New Zealand. He creates theatre, film and multimedia projects, and has had his work presented in New Zealand, Australia, Canada, Denmark, Hong Kong, Germany and the United States. Gareth Vincent Farr (born 29 February 1968) is a New Zealand composer and percussionist. Mark Baldwin (choreographer)
Mark Philip Baldwin OBE is a contemporary dance choreographer. He was born in Fiji and raised and educated in New Zealand. He was the Artistic Director of Rambert dance company from 2002-2018. Career Baldwin studied fine arts at the University of Auckland and trained with the New Zealand Dance Centre before joining the Royal New Zealand Ballet. Witi Ihimaera
Witi Tame Ihimaera-Smiler (; born 7 February 1944) is a New Zealand author. Raised in the small town of Waituhi, he decided to become a writer as a teenager after being convinced that Māori people were ignored or mischaracterised in literature. He was the first Māori writer to publish a collection of short stories, with ''Pounamu, Pounamu'' (1972), and the first to publish a novel, with ''Tangi'' (1973).
