Tracy Chamoun
Tracy Chamoun ( ar, ترايسي شمعون) (born on 22 October 1960) is a Lebanese author, diplomat and political activist of Lebanese and Australian descent. She was the Lebanese ambassador to Jordan from August 2017 until 7 August 2020 when she resigned after the 2020 Beirut explosions, saying the catastrophe showed the need for a change in leadership. Early life Tracy Chamoun was born in 22 October 1960 to the Chamoun political family. She is one of two surviving children of Dany Chamoun, the assassinated former leader of the National Liberal Party and son of former President Camille Chamoun; her mother is the late Patti Morgan Chamoun, an Australian fashion model and actress. Lebanese Nationality Law
Lebanese nationality law governs the acquisition, transmission and loss of Lebanese citizenship. Lebanese citizenship is the status of being a citizen of Lebanon and it can be obtained by birth or naturalisation. Lebanese nationality is transmitted by paternity (father) (see Jus sanguinis). Therefore, a Lebanese man who holds Lebanese citizenship can automatically confer citizenship to his children and foreign wife (only if entered in the Civil Acts Register in the Republic of Lebanon). Under the current law, descendants of Lebanese emigrants can only receive citizenship from their father and women cannot pass on citizenship to their children or foreign spouses. Chamoun ( ar, شمعون is a Lebanese political family. Camille Chamoun Camille was the head of the family. He was elected as a deputy five times, and served as minister multiple times, most notably in the first cabinet of Riad Solh. In 1952, he was elected president, and served in office until 1958. He founded the National Liberal Party, and its military wing, the Tigers Militia. He participated in the Lebanese Civil War. Dory Chamoun Dory is the oldest son of Camille, and serves as the president of the National Liberal Party. Dany Chamoun Dany was the youngest son of Camille who led the Tigers Militia.
