Umberto Antonio Tozzi (; born 4 March 1952) is an Italian pop and rock singer and composer. Over the course of his career, he has sold over 70 million records in different languages internationally, and his biggest international hits are: "Stella Stai", " Gloria", " Tu" and "Ti Amo". Biography Tozzi was born on 4 March 1952 in Turin, Italy. In 1968, at the age of 16, Umberto Tozzi joined 'Off Sound', one of the many groups that performed in small venues around Turin. In Milan, he met Adriano Pappalardo, with whom he formed a 13-piece band and began a large-scale Italian tour. In 1974 Tozzi had his first success as a songwriter, with the song "Un Corpo, un'anima" ("One Body, One Soul"), co-written with Damiano Dattoli and performed by Wess and Dori Ghezzi. Giorgio Tozzi (January 8, 1923 – May 30, 2011) was an American operatic bass. He was a mainstay for many years with the Metropolitan Opera, and sang principal bass roles in nearly every major opera house worldwide. Career Tozzi was born George John Tozzi in Chicago, Illinois. He studied at DePaul University with Rosa Raisa, Giacomo Rimini and John Daggett Howell. He later studied singing in New York City with Beverley Peck Johnson. Claudio Tozzi is a Brazilian artist born in 1944 in São Paulo, Brazil, who has worked since the 1960s to challenge the political and social culture of Brazil and the world. Through his art he has highlighted the censorship of military dictatorships, the woes of mass media, and the strength of individuals. He participated in the NeoFiguration movement, primarily about to issues experienced by Brazilians. Brazil lived under an oppressive dictatorship for years and the NeoFiguration movement worked to question the physical and social conditions of the era. James Michael Tozzi (born October 19, 1967) is an American artist, commercial director, producer, voice actor and musician best known for his work on the MTV2 comedy series ''Wonder Showzen'' and the Adult Swim show '' Xavier: Renegade Angel'' and as a member of the rock band/art collective PFFR. Fausto Tozzi (29 October 1921 – 10 December 1978) was an Italian film actor and screenwriter. He appeared in 70 films between 1951 and 1978. Mario Tozzi (30 October 1895 – 8 September 1979) was an Italian painter. He was awarded the Legion of Honour by the French government. Biography Tozzi studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Bologna in Italy where he met Giorgio Morandi and Osvaldo Licini. He graduated in 1916. After the First World War, he moved to Paris, France and founded the ''Groupe des Sept'' (also known as ''Les Italiens de Paris'') with Massimo Campigli, Giorgio de Chirico, Filippo de Pisis, Renato Paresce, Alberto Savinio and Gino Severini. Federigo Tozzi (born 1 January 1883 in Siena; died 21 March 1920 in Rome) was an Italian writer. Biography He was the son of an innkeeper. He initially worked as a railway official, but took over running the family inn after his father's death. In 1911 he published his first book of poetry. Two years later, he began work on his first novel, ''Con gli occhi chiusi'' ("With closed eyes"), which was highly autobiographical. That same year, he also founded a nationalist, bi-weekly magazine called ''La Torre'' and became a journalist in Rome. Bruno Tozzi
Bruno Tozzi (27 November 1656 - 29 January 1743) was an Italian monk, botanist and mycologist. A member of the Vallombrosan Order, he was a mentor for Pier Antonio Micheli who named the plant genus '' Tozzia'' in his honour. Tozzi was born in Montevarchi and his father Francesco di Simone Tozzi came from Florence. He was ordained in the Vallombrosan Order on May 5, 1676. He took an interest in the study of nature, travelling into the Alps and across Italy, collecting natural history specimens.
