Light Townsend Cummins (born April 23, 1946) is an American educator and historian. He was the Bryan Professor of History at Austin College in Sherman, Texas prior to his retirement in 2018 and was the official State Historian of Texas from May 2009 to July 2012. Education Cummins grew up in San Antonio, Texas, attending the San Antonio Academy, Alamo Heights High School, and TMI — The Episcopal School of Texas. He holds a bachelor's and master's degree from Texas State University–San Marcos. He earned a PhD in history from Tulane University. Professional activities Cummins has been a Fulbright Scholar and an Associate of the Danforth Foundation. In 1993, Governor of Texas Ann Richards appointed Cummins to serve on the Stephen F. Andrew David Townsend (born 23 July 1963) is a former professional footballer and sports co-commentator for Premier League Productions and CBS Sports. As a player he was a midfielder who notably played in the Premier League for Chelsea, Aston Villa and Middlesbrough. He also played in the Football League for Southampton, Norwich City and West Bromwich Albion. Prior to his professional career he had spent four years in Non-League with Welling United. Despite being born in England, Townsend played in World Cups for the Republic of Ireland national team, making 70 appearances and scoring seven goals. Andros Darryl Townsend (born 16 July 1991) is an English professional footballer who plays as a winger for club Everton. A graduate of the Tottenham Hotspur academy, Townsend was initially loaned out to several League One and then Championship clubs alongside limited Tottenham appearances, before making his Premier League debut in September 2012. Alf Townsend
Alfred Charles Townsend (23 January 1900 – 26 September 1973) was a New Zealand rugby league footballer who played in the 1920s. He played for New Zealand in 1928, as a during the era of contested scrums. Playing career Townsend originally played for the City Rovers in the Auckland Rugby League competition. In 1921 he represented Auckland in a match with Canterbury in Christchurch. He later represented the North Island in 1925. Midway through the 1927 season he moved to Otago for work reasons and joined the City Rugby League Club there. He represented Otago between 1926 and 1929. He also represented the South Island, thus becoming one of the few New Zealand league players to have played for both islands.
