Andy Towle
Andy Towle is an American writer, publisher, and media commentator based in Provincetown, Massachusetts. Background Towle holds two Bachelor of Arts degrees from Vassar College in Art History and English. He was awarded the 1989 W.K. Rose Fellowship in the Creative Arts from Vassar College, a Wallace Stegner graduate fellowship from 1989-1991 from Stanford University, and two writing fellowships, one in poetry and one in fiction, from the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, Massachusetts. While in Provincetown he produced poetry, and worked as a pool boy and a bartender at The Boatslip. After moving to New York in 1992, he became a bartender and later a manager at the 1990s Chelsea gay bar Splash. He returned to New York in 2005 after moving around, first in Hong Kong (where he was for several years partnered with ''Amazing Race'' winner Chip Arndt) then Los Angeles. Kerry Towle
Kerry Towle (born c. 1974) is a Canadian politician and former Member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta representing the electoral district of Innisfail-Sylvan Lake and served as the Seniors Critic as a member of the Wildrose Alliance, before leaving the Wildrose Party on November 24, 2014 to join the Alberta Progressive Conservative Party. Towle lost her reelection bid, to Don MacIntyre of the Wildrose, on May 5, 2015. Before becoming a politician, Towle worked for both Indian and Northern Affairs, the David Thompson Health Region and was a turkey farmer with her husband Brad for five years. The Cardross road crash was a hit and run crash at Cardross, Victoria, Australia at 9.50pm on 18 February 2006, where the driver of a Ford EA Falcon station wagon struck a group of thirteen teenage pedestrians, killing five immediately and injuring eight more. The teenagers were walking along Myall Street, Cardross to a party in nearby Red Cliffs after being dropped by a taxi driver at an incorrect address. Cassandra Manners, 16, Stevie-Lee Weight, 15, Cory Dowling, 16, Abby Hirst, 17 and her 16-year-old brother Shane Hirst all died at the scene. Josephine Calvi, 16, died the following day at the Royal Adelaide Hospital. ''DC Comics v. Mark Towle'' was a copyright case heard in the United States Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit in September 2015. The case concerned defendant Mark Towle, who built and sold replicas of the Batmobile in his garage named 'Garage Gotham'. DC Comics initially filed a lawsuit, in May 2011, in the federal district court alleging causes of action for copyright infringement, trademark infringement and unfair competition arising out of Mark's manufacture and sale of replicas. The plaintiffs, DC Comics, claimed the infringement of their copyright as the replicas sold by Mark were similar to the ones that appeared in 1966 television show ''Batman'' and the 1989 film ''Batman''. The issue discussed by the court was "whether a character in a comic book, television program or motion picture is entitled to copyright protection". Margaret Elizabeth Ashley-Towle ( Ashley; 1902/1903 – November 2, 1985) was an early American archaeologist. Education and career Margaret Elizabeth Ashley was born in Atlanta, Georgia to Claude Lordawick Ashley, a chief of the Atlanta city council, and Elizabeth Miller, the daughter of Captain Hiram Miller, a veteran of the Federal army. After graduating from Oglethorpe University in Atlanta with an A.B. in English literature and a minor in journalism in 1924, she enrolled in Columbia University, pursuing a graduate degree in anthropology. Arthur Lucan (born Arthur Towle; 16 September 1885 – 17 May 1954) was an English actor who performed the drag act Old Mother Riley on stage, radio and screen, with a series of comedy films from the late 1930s to the early 1950s.
