Tower Transit Singapore is a contracted bus operator operating in Singapore. It commenced operations on 29 May 2016 and it is a subsidiary of Transit Systems. History In October 2014, the Land Transport Authority called for tenders to operate 26 routes out of Bulim Bus Depot in Jurong West based from Bukit Batok, Clementi and Jurong East bus interchanges as part of its new Bus Contracting Model. In May 2015, the Land Transport Authority awarded Tower Transit Singapore the contract with operations to commence in May 2016, with services based at the Bulim Bus Depot. On 31 July 2015, the Land Transport Authority handed over Bulim Bus Depot to Tower Transit Singapore, allowing preparations such as fitting works on the depot and training of its staff to be carried out earlier. Wright Eclipse Gemini 2
The Wright Eclipse Gemini is a Low-floor bus, low-floor double-decker bus body that was built by Wrightbus since 2001, based on the single-deck Wright Eclipse design. The second-generation Eclipse Gemini 2 was launched in 2009, followed by the third-generation Gemini 3 in 2013. Additionally, the body was available on Volvo Super Olympian chassis in Hong Kong between 2003 and 2005, marketed as the Wright Explorer. The original Eclipse Gemini was launched in 2001 on Volvo B7TL chassis; from 2006, the body was also built on the replacement Volvo B9TL chassis and, from 2013, on the B9TL's replacement, the Volvo B5TL. Sengkang Bus Interchange is a bus interchange located on the ground level of Compass Heights condominium in the town centre of Sengkang New Town, Singapore. Located next to Sengkang MRT/LRT station, it is the second bus interchange in Singapore to be air conditioned. It was opened on 18 January 2003. Bus Contracting Model
The Bus Contracting Model (BCM), formerly known as the Government Contracting Model, is a contracting model introduced by the Land Transport Authority (LTA) in 2014 for public buses in Singapore, implemented in 2016. The BCM is based on the Transperth model in Perth, Western Australia with quality incentive elements from London Buses. Under the BCM, local and overseas bus operators bid for contracts to operate public bus services on behalf of LTA. The LTA has also adopted a new unified lush green livery and logo for all buses, and now procures and owns the bus fleet for all public bus services in Singapore. Mandai Depot (Malay: Depot Mandai; Chinese: 万礼车厂) is an integrated train and bus depot located in Mandai, Singapore. The train depot serves as the maintenance and control centre of the Thomson-East Coast line while the bus depot is used for the Sembawang-Yishun Bus Package. The facility is located on a site bounded by Mandai Road, Seletar Expressway and Lorong Lada Hitam, on the former site of Orchidville. Yio Chu Kang Bus Interchange is a bus interchange in the northern part of Ang Mo Kio, Singapore. The interchange is located beneath Yio Chu Kang MRT station. Boarding berths are located north of Yio Chu Kang MRT station concourse while and alighting berths are located south. Formerly known as a bus terminal, it was renamed as a bus interchange on 1 August 2013. Expansion works started in December 2018 and were completed in 2019. Woodlands Bus Interchange (formerly Woodlands Regional Bus Interchange) is a bus interchange in Singapore. Located at Woodlands, the interchange is linked to Woodlands MRT station and adjacent to Causeway Point shopping mall. It is the largest and among the busiest bus interchange in Singapore.
