Tourula
Tourula is a district of Jyväskylä, Finland, and a part of the Kantakaupunki ward. It is located near downtown Jyväskylä and separated from it by the river Tourujoki. The district also includes the Kangas suburb. The official district of Tourula borders Lohikoski in the north, Kangasvuori in the northeast, Halssila in the east, Lutakko in the south, Puistola in the west and Taulumäki in the northwest. Tourula was a residential area for the working class, made of wooden single-family houses which were built in the 1910s and 1920s. The area was transferred from Jyväskylän maalaiskunta to Jyväskylä in 1941, and after that the wooden houses started to decay and they were torn down during the 1970s and 1980s. Valtion Kivääritehdas
Valtion Kivääritehdas (VKT), ''State Rifle Factory'' in English, was a Finnish state-owned firearms manufacturer that existed independently in the Tourula district of Jyväskylä in Finland from 1926 to 1946. The first serial product in the factory was the Lahti-Saloranta M/26 light machine gun. Other military firearms included the Lahti L-35 pistol and the Lahti L-39 20 mm anti-tank rifle. During World War II, production was decentralized to Seppälänkangas depot and SOK-owned factories in Vaajakoski. After the war in 1946, VKT was consolidated into the government-owned ''Valtion metallitehtaat'' conglomerate that became Valmet in 1951 and the unit was named just Tourula factory. The factory still produced sport and hunting rifles, but the main focus shifted to building industrial machines and tractors. Jyväskylän maalaiskunta ( sv, Jyväskylä landskommun), 'The Rural Municipality of Jyväskylä' is a List of former municipalities of Finland, former municipality of Finland. Together with Korpilahti, Jyväskylän maalaiskunta was consolidated with Jyväskylä on 1 January 2009. It was the last municipality to carry the name maalaiskunta. Palokka
Palokka is a district of Jyväskylä and the largest area by population in the Palokka-Puuppola ward. Prior to 2009, it was a part of Jyväskylän maalaiskunta. The greater Palokka area has a population of ~14000. Palokka is approximately 5 km to the north of central Jyväskylä. The national road 4 goes through Palokka. Jyväsjärvi
Lake Jyväsjärvi () is a lake situated in the centre of Jyväskylä in Finland. The lake can be also considered as the Northern end of Lake Päijänne. Parts of Jyväsjärvi have been filled many times to gain more land for the enlarging city of Jyväskylä. Mattilanniemi and Ylistö, two campuses of the University of Jyväskylä are situated on the Southern shores of the lake. Two bridges are crossing the lake connecting Ylistönrinne and Kuokkala neighbourhoods to the city centre. The harbour of Jyväskylä is situated next to the Kuokkala bridge. During winter seasons a three kilometres long ice skating track is created on the surface of the lake. Huhtasuo
Huhtasuo is one of the districts of Jyväskylä, Finland. It is located about 3–8 kilometers from the city center to the northeast. Kangaslampi (Jyväskylä), Kangaslampi, Sulku, Varikko, Huhtakeskus and Kaakkolampi are subareas of the district. Along with the Kangasvuori, Kangasvuori district, Huhtasuo district is a part of the Huhtasuo (ward), Huhtasuo ward. Huhtasuo is a multicultural area, and has big number of immigrants compared to the other areas in Jyväskylä. The population of Huhtasuo was 4,542 in 2020.
