Tournament For The Armed Forces
The Tournament for the Iraqi Armed Forces ( ar, بطولة دعم قوات المسلحة العراقية) was a Friendly match, friendly Association football, football competition in Iraq hosted by Al-Shaab Stadium on 21 March 2015 and contested between the four biggest clubs in Baghdad: Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya, Al-Shorta SC, Al-Shorta, Al-Talaba SC, Al-Talaba and Al-Zawra'a SC, Al-Zawraa. The event was held in support of the Iraqi Armed Forces and the Popular Mobilization Forces and their fight against terrorism. Entry was free for spectators and the tournament consisted of three 30-minute matches, culminating in Al-Zawraa SC, Al-Zawraa winning the cup by beating Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya 5–4 in a penalty shootout. Al-Zawraa SC
Al-Zawraa Sports Club ( ar, نادي الزوراء الرياضي) is an Iraqi sports club based in Utayfia, Karkh District (near Tigris River), Baghdad. Their football team compete in the Iraqi Premier League, the top-flight of Iraqi football. Al-Zawraa are the most decorated club in Iraq having won 14 Premier League titles, 16 Iraq FA Cups and 5 Iraqi Super Cups, all national records. Al-Zawraa also won the Iraqi Elite Cup a joint-record 3 times. Al-Zawraa have won the domestic double a record eight times and became only the second Iraqi team to win the domestic quadruple in the 1999–2000 season. The club's most recent trophy came in 2021 with a 1–0 win over rivals Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya in the Super Cup. In 2022, Al-Zawraa opened the new all-seater Al-Zawraa Stadium which replaced the club's old stadium at the same site. Mustafa Karim Abdullah ( ar, مصطفى كريم عبدالله) (born 21 July 1987) is an Iraqi footballer. He last played for Al-Talaba. He plays as striker, and is known for his ability to score with both feet. Al-Shorta Sports Club ( ar, نادي الشرطة الرياضي, lit=''Police Sports Club'') is an Iraqi sports club based in Al-Rusafa, Baghdad. It has teams in 17 different sports, more than any other Iraqi club, and the best known section of the club is the football team, whose origins date back to 1932. Hussein Ali Jasim Al Saedi ( ar, حسين علي جاسم الساعدي; born 29 November 1996) is an Iraqi professional footballer who plays for Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 1 club CS Sfaxien and the Iraq national team. Muayad Khalid ( ar, مؤيد خالد) is an Iraqi former professional footballer who played as a right-back. Career Born in Baghdad, Khalid was spotted by an Al Talaba scout and began playing for the local giants as a teenager.
