Totò Tarzan
''Totò Tarzan'' is a 1950 Italian comedy film directed by Mario Mattoli and starring Totò, Marilyn Buferd and Alba Arnova. It is a parody of Edgar Rice Burroughs's novel ''Tarzan of the Apes''. It was shot at the Farnesina Studios in Rome. The film's sets were designed by the art director Piero Filippone. As with Totò's other films of the era it was a commercial success, taking around 385 million lira at the box office.Chiti & Poppi p.371 Plot Antonio is a foundling who has lived for years in the jungle along with the monkey Bongo. Tino Buazzelli
Agostino "Tino" Buazzelli (13 September 1922 – 20 October 1980) was an Italian stage, television and film actor. He appeared in 46 films between 1948 and 1978. After a diploma of education, Buazzelli enrolled the Accademia d'Arte Drammatica in Rome, graduating in 1946. He made his debut the following year, in the stage company Maltagliati-Gassman. He made his film debut in 1948, in Riccardo Freda's '' Il cavaliere misterioso''. Buazzelli's major successes relates to theatre, notably several stage works played in Piccolo Teatro in Milan between fifties and sixties, and his interpretation of Brecht's ''Life of Galileo'' (1963) referred as the peak of his career. Vira Silenti (16 April 1931 – 1 November 2014) was an Italian actress. Career Born in Naples as Elvira Giovene, Silenti debuted as child actress at ten years old in ''Una notte dopo l’opera'' (1942). She studied law at the university and enrolled at the dance school of Jia Ruskaja, then she left her studies to devote herself to the acting career. One of the most active actresses in the Italian television between fifties and sixties, she slowed her activity after her marriage with the film producer Ermanno Donati, until her retirement in the early 1980s. Death Silenti was struck by a car on 31 October 2014 in Rome, Italy. She died the next day from her injuries at the age of 83. Galeazzo Benti (6 August 1923 – 21 April 1993) was an Italian actor. He appeared in more than 70 films between 1942 and 1991. Life and career Born Galeazzo Bentivoglio in Florence, Italy, a descendant of the Bentivoglio family, which ruled Bologna from 1401 until 1506 and from 1511 until 1512, he started his career as a cartoonist and a set designer. After his first roles in 1942, he had his breakout in 1943, in Sergio Tofano's ''Gian Burrasca'', in which he played a frivolous and falsely modest snob, a role he specialized during his career. After successfully alternating between cinema and revue, in the late 1950s he moved to Venezuela, where he worked in a television channel dedicated to Italian immigrants. He came back to Italy in the early 1980s, and here he reprised his acting career equally splitting between films and TV-series until his death from a heart attack in 1993.
