Toshihiko Tahara
is a Japanese idol singer, and solo vocalist, affiliated with Johnny & Associates. In the 1980s he had a number of number 1 singles in Japan. He was awarded a Japan Music Award in 1983 for the song . He was part of the Tanokin Trio. Biography Tahara is from Kofu, the capital city of Yamanashi Prefecture. He started acting in 1978, and officially debuted in June 1980, aged 19, with his first single 哀愁でいと(NEW YORK CITY NIGHTS), which made it to no. 2 in the Oricon Chart. Tahara was noted for his dancing skills, which he showed during songs like (1988) and (1988). In 1983 at the age of 22, he was featured in a 40" minute dance show and music documentary ''Love Forever'' directed by Umetsugu Inoue. , known exclusively by his stage name Toshi,Currently stylized as Toshl (with a lowercase L) and previously in all capital letters. is a Japanese singer and songwriter who is the lead vocalist and a co-founder of the rock band X Japan, who rose to prominence in the late 1980s and early 1990s and is credited as founders of the visual kei movement. Toshi began an extensive solo career in 1992 before leaving X Japan at the end of 1997. Toshi laments he was " brainwashed" by a group called Home of Heart, whose leader would control his musical output for the next 12 years. In 2007, X Japan reunited and began a world tour. Taka And Toshi
is a Japanese manzai (stand-up) comedy duo ''( kombi)'' from Sapporo consisting of a.k.a. "Taka" as boke and a.k.a. "Toshi" as tsukkomi. They are under contract to the entertainment agency, Yoshimoto Kogyo. Formed in 1994, they are best known for their stand-up acts and as TV tarentos in variety shows. Sketch comedy As the boke, Taka is prone to silly comments, while Toshi is the more reasonable of the two, often criticizing Taka's remarks, shooting tsukkomi saying "such-and-such ka!" (i.e. "Ōbei ka!"), and hitting Taka on the head for his silly response. "Ōbei ka!" (pronounced "oh-bay-ka!") is their most known tsukkomi gag. It is a sarcastic way of saying, “Are you Western?"
