''Torrents of Steel'' (russian: Железный поток, Zhelezniy potok) is a 1967 Soviet war drama film directed by Efim Dzigan based on the eponymous story by Alexander Serafimovich. Plot The plot is based on a heavy campaign by the Taman Army through the areas occupied by the White Army. The film is set during the summer of 1918, the beginning of the Russian Civil War. Nikolay Nikolaevich Trofimov (russian: Никола́й Никола́евич Трофи́мов; January 21, 1920, Sevastopol — November 7, 2005, St. Petersburg) was a Soviet and Russian theater and film actor. Vladimir Sergeyevich Ivashov (russian: Влади́мир Серге́евич Ивашо́в; 28 August 1939 — 23 March 1995) was a Soviet and Russian actor. Biography He had a film career that spanned over 30 years. He is best known for his role as Pvt. Alyosha Skvortsov in '' Ballad of a Soldier'' which he starred in with Zhanna Prokhorenko in 1959. The film was awarded the Moscow International Film Festival award in 1960. It also won the Lenin Award. The film was kept in the film hall of The Kremlin to be shown to foreign guests.
