Torquay Football Club
The Torquay Football Club, nicknamed the ''Tigers'', is an Australian rules football and netball club based in the town of Torquay, Victoria, Torquay, Victoria (Australia), Victoria. The ''Tigers'' teams currently play in the Bellarine Football League. History The area between Torquay and Anglesea, Victoria, Anglesea was served by the Freshwater Creek Football Club until 1952. The original "Torquay Football Club" was formed after World War I, and its first colours were blue and white. The club was disbanded during World War II. In 1952, Geo McCartney founded a junior Torquay FC team, while a senior squad was reformed in 1953. The first games were played on the Laurie Dean oval at the camping ground. The first competition the club played in was the "Jarman Cup", coached by Joel Witherton. Bellarine Football League
The Bellarine Football Netball League (BFNL) is an Australian rules football and netball competition based in the Bellarine Peninsula region of Victoria, Australia. Established in 1971 as the Bellarine & District Football League, the competition was formed out of the ashes of the Polwarth Football League, which had six of its former teams join. The competition was renamed the Bellarine Football League in 1986, and finally the Bellarine Football Netball League in 2011 when the local netball competition was administratively aligned with the football competition for the first time. Prior to 2011, netball clubs competed in a competition overseen by the Bellarine District Netball Association. Dale Lewis (footballer)
Dale Lewis (born 4 May 1969) is a former Australian rules footballer who represented in the 1990s and early 2000s. Early life and career A supporter, Lewis moved with his family from Swan Hill to Ballarat when he was eight years old, and except for his time at the Swans, he was an itinerant footballer. Lewis played junior football with North Ballarat and made his senior debut with the Roosters in 1988 before spending two summer seasons playing with Darwin club St Mary's, alongside future champion Michael Long.
