Torneo Apertura 2008 (Paraguay)
The Torneo Apertura 2008 (''official name: Copa Tigo 2008'') was the football (soccer) tournament that opened the season in the Paraguayan first division. The tournament began on February 15 and ended on June 29 with the participation of 12 teams, playing a two-legged all play all system. Club Libertad accumulated the most points and became the champions, securing a spot for the Copa Libertadores 2009. Tacuary
Tacuary Football Club is a Paraguayan First Division football team, based in the neighborhood of Jara, Asunción. The club was founded in 1923. Tacuary qualified for the Copa Libertadores tournament twice (in 2005 and 2007) and the Copa Sudamericana twice (in 2007 and 2012). In 2013 it returned to the Paraguayan Segunda División. In the 2021 season of Paraguay's División Intermedia, Tacuary finished in 3rd and was promoted to the Primera División. Over the years Tacuary's youth academy has produced players such as Ramón Cardozo, Hernán Pérez, Luis Páez, Ronald Huth and Brian Montenegro, as well as other young players that have been sold to important club in the European and Mexican leagues. Juan Eduardo "El Magico" Samudio Serna (born 14 October 1978 in Asunción) is a former Paraguayan footballer. He held the record for most goals scored in the Paraguayan first division with 108 goals, and is the third maximum goal scorer of Paraguayan football with 119 goals, ahead of Fredy Bareiro (112). Career Samudio started his career in the youth divisions of Libertad and made his debut in 1996. While in Libertad the team got relegated to the 2nd division in 1998 but Samudio stayed in the team and helped in obtaining the promotion to 1st division in 2000. José María Ortigoza Ortiz (; born 1 April 1987) is a Paraguayan football striker who plays for Cerro Porteño. Career Club Ortigoza started his career with the Paraguayan club Sol de América, where he played alongside Pablo Zeballos.
