Torgeir Andersen
Torgeir Andersen (born 16 February 1916 in Nøtterøy, died 5 February 1991) was a Norwegian politician for the Conservative Party. He was elected to the Norwegian Parliament from Vestfold in 1969, and was re-elected on one occasion. Nøtterøy
Nøtterøy is an island and a former municipality in the present-day municipality of Færder in Vestfold and Telemark county, Norway. The administrative centre of the municipality was the village of Borgheim. The parish of ''Nøtterø'' was established as a municipality on 1 January 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). Two islands were later transferred from the municipality of Stokke to Nøtterøy: Håøya (in 1901) and Veierland (in 1964). The whole municipality was made up of a small island group south of Tønsberg municipality, including the islands of Nøtterøy, Føynland, Veierland, and about 175 smaller islands. Nøtterøy includes the villages of Borgheim, Glomstein, Teie, and Torød. As 2010, 16,418 of the municipality lived within the town of Tønsberg, an urban area shared between the two municipalities. The Storting ( no, Stortinget ) (lit. the Great Thing) is the supreme legislature of Norway, established in 1814 by the Constitution of Norway. It is located in Oslo. The unicameral parliament has 169 members and is elected every four years based on party-list proportional representation in nineteen multi-seat constituencies. Vestfold
Vestfold is a traditional region, a former county and a current electoral district in Eastern Norway. In 2020 the county became part of the much larger county of Vestfold og Telemark. Located on the western shore of the Oslofjord, it bordered the previous Buskerud and Telemark counties. The county administration was located in Tønsberg, Norway's oldest city, and the largest city is Sandefjord. With the exception of the city-county of Oslo, Vestfold was the smallest county in Norway by area. Vestfold was the only county in which all municipalities had declared Bokmål to be their sole official written form of the Norwegian language. Vestfold County Municipality
Vestfold County Municipality ( no, Vestfold fylkeskommune) is the regional governing administration of Vestfold county in Norway, after the county was re-established in 2024. The county municipality was earlier established on 1 January 1976 when the law was changed to allow elected county councils in Norway. The county municipality was dissolved on 1 January 2020, when Vestfold was merged with the neighboring Telemark county, creating the new Vestfold og Telemark county which was led by the Vestfold og Telemark County Municipality. Harald Thaulow
Harald Thaulow (30 June 1815 – 11 March 1881) was a Norwegian pharmacist. Biography Harald Conrad Thaulow was born in the Duchy of Schleswig, at that time a dominion of the Danish crown. He was the son of Johan Frederik Thaulow (1768–1833) and Caroline Henriette Tugendreich Looft (1777–1852). His father was both a military officer and physician. He was a brother of Heinrich Arnold Thaulow and Moritz Christian Julius Thaulow, and a cousin of Henrik Wergeland, Camilla Collett and Joseph Frantz Oscar Wergeland. He was an apprentice chemist in Oldenburg (1832–34) and at Altona (1834–36). He became a student at the University of Kiel in 1836 and traveled the same year to Christiania (now Oslo). Here he became an assistant to Jens Jacob Keyser, professor of physics and chemistry at the new University in Christiania (1836 to 1842).
