Torcuato Di Tella University
The Torcuato Di Tella University (''Universidad Torcuato Di Tella'', commonly referred to as UTDT or La Di Tella) is a non-profit private university founded in 1991. Located Buenos Aires, Argentina, it is focused primarily on social sciences. The undergraduates majors available are economics, business economics, digital technologies, business administration, law, political science, international relations, social sciences, history, architecture and design. The university also offers over 34 graduate programs. The faculty comprises more than 70 full-time professors, most of them alumni from universities abroad. The university provides more than 50 exchange programs with universities in Europe, North America, South America, Australia, Africa and Asia. Nicolás Massot
Nicolás Massot is an Argentinian politician and economist. He currently serves as Director of Banco Ciudad de Buenos Aires, Argentina's third-largest public bank. He was a member of the Argentine Chamber of Deputies (lower house of the Argentine legislature) from 2015 to 2019. Career He began his career as the General Director of Political and Institutional Reform under then-president Cristina Fernández de Kirchner. He served in that role until de Krichner's 2015 term ended. He then was elected a Deputy of the Argentine Nation for the Province of Córdoba, serving from December 2015 through December 2019. Javier Gerardo Milei (born 22 October 1970) is an Argentine politician, businessman and economist currently serving as a federal deputy of Buenos Aires. Clorindo Testa
Clorindo Manuel José Testa (December 10, 1923 – April 11, 2013) was an Italian-Argentine architect and artist. Testa was one of the leaders of the Argentine rationalist movement and one of the pioneers of the brutalist movement in Argentina. His style as an architect has always been influenced by his artistic nature, with projects dominated by the effects of colour, tension, metaphors and plasticity; these aspects are well illustrated in his designs for the Biblioteca Nacional de la República Argentina and the Banco de Londres building in Buenos Aires. He was member of the international jury which chose Carlos Ott as the architect for the Opera Bastille in Paris. Avenida Figueroa Alcorta is a major thoroughfare in Buenos Aires, Argentina, with a length of over along the city's northside. History The rapid northward growth of the city of Buenos Aires during the late nineteenth century was facilitated by plans for a number of boulevards in the area by Mayor Torcuato de Alvear. Shortly after the opening of Viceroy Vértiz Avenue (today Avenida del Libertador) in 1906, a parallel boulevard was begun to serve the numerous upscale neighborhoods planned for the largely undeveloped northside. Torcuato Di Tella
Torcuato di Tella (18921948) was an Argentine industrialist and philanthropist. Life and times Torcuato di Tella was born in Capracotta, Italy, in 1892. He arrived in Argentina at age 13 and settled in Buenos Aires. A widespread, 1911 bakery workers' strike prompted di Tella to develop a bread making machine, which he sold to a number of the city's ''panaderías'' as both a labor-saving device and a hedge against future strikes. The venture gave birth to ''Sección Industrial Amasadoras Mecánicas'' ("Bread Making Machine Industries"), or, simply, ''SIAM''.
