Torbjørn Lie
Thorbjørn Lie (17 December 1943 – 19 November 2006) was a Norwegian businessperson and politician for the Progress Party. He was born in Lardal, but later settled in Førde. As a businessperson Lie is notable for founding the helicopter company Airlift in 1987. Progress Party (Norway)
The Progress Party ( nb, Fremskrittspartiet; nn, Framstegspartiet; se, Ovddádusbellodat), commonly abbreviated as FrP, is a right-wing political party in Norway. The FrP has traditionally self-identified as classical-liberal and as a libertarian party but is generally positioned to the right of the Conservative Party, and is considered the most right-wing party to be represented in parliament. It is often described as moderately right-wing populist; this characterization has also been disputed in both academic and public discourse. By 2020, the party attained a growing national conservative faction. After the 2017 parliamentary election, it was Norway's third largest political party, with 26 representatives in the Storting. Lardal
Lardal () is a former municipality in Vestfold county, Norway. The administrative centre of the municipality was the village of Svarstad. The parish of ''Laurdal'' was established as a municipality on 1 January 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). The municipality was divided into the parishes of Svarstad, Styrvoll, and Hem. As a part of Norway's nationwide municipal reform, Lardal was merged into Larvik on 1 January 2018. Pikstein, the highest point in Lardal, is located in westernmost Lardal at the border to Buskerud County. General information Name The Old Norse form of the name was ''Lagardalr''. Førde
Førde is a former municipality in the county of Sogn og Fjordane, Norway. It was located in the traditional district of Sunnfjord. The administrative center was the town of Førde which in 2016 had 10,255 inhabitants. Other villages in Førde municipality included Bruland, Holsen, Moskog, and Haukedalen. The Øyrane area in the town of Førde was a large industrial/commercial area for the region. The European Route E39 highway passed through the municipality, and it passed by the lake Holsavatnet. Førde Airport, Bringeland was the regional airport, located about from the town centre with flights that connect Oslo and Bergen with Førde. The airport was actually located in neighboring Gaular municipality, just south of the border. The largest hospital in Sogn og Fjordane county, Førde Central Hospital, and the regional offices of the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation are located in the town. Airlift (company)
Airlift AS is a helicopter operator based at Førde Airport, Bringeland in Sunnfjord, Norway. The company operates a combined sixteen Eurocopter AS350 Écureuil and Eurocopter AS332 Super Puma. In addition to Bringeland, the company has bases at Kinsarvik, Stranda, Ljosland and Hønefoss Airport, Eggemoen. Airlift is owned by Noordzee Helikopters Vlaanderen and has about seventy employees. History The company was incorporated in 1986 by Torbjørn Lie. It was originally based at Førde Airport, Øyrane in the town center. After it was closed, Airlift moved to Bringeland in 1988. It later won contracts to fly air ambulance services. In 1996 Airlift won a contract to fly services for the Governor of Svalbard, with a base at Svalbard Airport, Longyear. Sogndal is a municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is located on the northern shore of the Sognefjorden in the traditional district of Sogn. The village of Hermansverk is the administrative center of Sogndal municipality. Other villages include Kaupanger, Kjørnes, Fimreite, Nornes, and Fjærland. Sogn Og Fjordane
Sogn og Fjordane (; English: "Sogn and Fjordane") was, up to 1 January 2020, a county in western Norway, when it was merged to become part of Vestland county. Bordering previous counties Møre og Romsdal, Oppland, Buskerud, and Hordaland, the county administration was in the village of Hermansverk in Leikanger municipality. The largest town in the county was Førde. Although Sogn og Fjordane has some industry, predominantly hydroelectricity and aluminium, it is predominantly an agricultural area.
