The Top of the World IPC is a biennial international piano competition in Tromsø, Norway. Mariangela Vacatello
Mariangela Vacatello (born January 22, 1982) is an Italian classical concert pianist from Naples. Early life Vacatello comes from a musical family: her mother, Pina, was a pianist and now is a piano teacher and her father, Antonio, is a piano tuner as well as a professor and musician. When Vacatello was four years old, she began attending the Yamaha Music Course. At age seven, she went on to study piano with Aldo Tramma, a pupil of the famous Italian pianist and pedagogue Vincenzo Vitale. She was subsequently admitted to the International Piano Academy "Incontri col Maestro" in Imola where she became a maestro in 2006 after studying under the guidance of Franco Scala and Piero Rattalino. She also studied at the Milan Conservatory with Riccardo Risaliti and Paolo Bordoni where in 1999 she obtained her piano degree with ''cum Laude Honourable mention''. Volker Banfield
Volker Banfield (born 9 May 1944, Oberaudorf, Bavaria) is a German classical pianist.Jeremy Siepmann, "Banfield, Volker" in Sadie, Stanley; John Tyrrell, eds. (2001). David Dubal
David Dubal (born Cleveland, Ohio) is an American pianist, teacher, author, lecturer, broadcaster, and painter. Musician and painter Dubal has given piano recitals and master classes worldwide, and has also judged international piano competitions (to include the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition). He recorded several albums jointly with pianist Stanley Waldoff for the Musical Heritage Society label, and four compact discs of these recordings have been released on the ArkivCD label. (His album of Aram Khachaturian solo piano works has never been given a compact disc release, although it has been archived at YouTube.) Dubal appeared in the 2013 Dutch film ''Nostalgia: The Music of Wim Statius Muller'', commenting on the musical compositions of Wim Statius Muller, who was Dubal's teacher at Ohio State University. Einar Steen-Nøkleberg
Einar Steen-Nøkleberg (born 25 April 1944) is a Norwegian classical pianist and musical pedagogue. Steen-Nøkleberg was born in Østre Toten to farmer Jacob Steen-Nøkleberg and Signe Sveen. He has recorded more than fifty albums, and toured all over Europe, in America, Asia, and the Soviet Union. He was appointed professor at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover from 1975 to 1982, and professor at the Norwegian Academy of Music from 1982. He was awarded the Norwegian Music Critics Award 1975, Spellemannprisen 1976, Lindemanprisen 1987, and Griegprisen in 1988. He was decorated Knight, First Class of the Order of St. Olav in 1993. Tamás Vásáry (; born 11 August 1933) is a Hungarian concert pianist and conductor. Biography and career Vásáry was born in Debrecen, Hungary, and made his stage debut at the age of 8, performing Mozart's Piano Concerto in D major, K.107 in the city of his birth, where he gave a solo recital the following year. He then began to concertize regularly as a child prodigy. At this time he was introduced to Ernő Dohnányi, a leading figure of musical life in Hungary, who made a unique exception by offering to accept the gifted youth as a pupil in spite of his age. Yaron Kohlberg
Yaron Kohlberg (born in Jerusalem on 6 March 1983) is an Israeli pianist. He won prestigious international prizes and performs regularly on major stages worldwide. Beginning in 2018, Kohlberg is the President of the Cleveland International Piano Competition. He is the son of Islamicist professor Etan Kohlberg and violinist Bat-Sheva Savaldi-Kohlberg. Kohlberg started playing piano in 1990. He studied with Luisa Yoffe, Eitan Globerson and Arie Vardi, and in 2009 obtained a master's degree with distinction from the Buchmann-Mehta school of music of Tel Aviv University.
