Max Varnel (21 March 1925 – 15 January 1996) was a French-born Australian film and television director who worked primarily in the United Kingdom and Australia. Biography Born Max Le Bozec in Paris, France, he was the son of the film director Marcel Varnel. He began his career as an assistant director of ''The Magic Box'' (1951) and continued in this rol for ''The Card'' (1952), '' Devil Girl from Mars'' (1954), and ''The Cockleshell Heroes'' (1955), among others. His directing credits encompass a long string of B movies, including ''Moment of Indiscretion'', '' A Woman Possessed'' (both 1958), ''Top Floor Girl'', ''Web of Suspicion'', '' The Child and the Killer'', and ''Crash Drive'' (all 1959). Maurice Kaufmann
Maurice Harington Kaufmann (29 June 1927 – 21 September 1997) was a British actor of stage, film and television, who specialised in whodunits and horror films, from 1954 to 1981, when he retired. Personal life He was married to Honor Blackman from 1961 to 1975; they appeared together in the film, '' Fright'' (1971). They adopted two children, daughter Lottie and son Barnaby, before divorcing in 1975. Death Maurice Kaufmann died in 1997 in London from cancer, aged 70. He was nursed, on his deathbed, by his ex-wife, Honor Blackman. Elizabeth Joan Winch (14 August 1930 – 6 September 2018), known professionally as Liz Fraser, was a British film actress, best known for being cast in provocative comedy roles. Early life Fraser was born in Southwark, London. Her year of birth was usually cited as 1933, which she gave when auditioning for her role in '' I'm All Right Jack'', because the Boulting Brothers wanted someone younger for the part. Brian Nissen
Brian Nissen (20 October 1927 in London – 8 February 2001 in Salisbury, Wiltshire) was a British actor and television continuity announcer. Biography Nissen made an early appearance in Laurence Olivier's film of Shakespeare's ''Henry V'', and made many TV, film and stage appearances, including '' The Dam Busters'' (1955), and the television series '' The New Adventures of Charlie Chan'' and '' Sword of Freedom'' in 1957. But he is probably best-remembered as an in-vision announcer for Southern Television, where his formal style seemed to sum up the company's aesthetic. He joined Southern at its inception in 1958 and stayed until its demise in 1981, and was kept on by the successor company TVS despite its general policy of breaking with Southern's conservatism. He retired from TVS in August 1987. Nissen died on 8 February 2001 in Salisbury, Wiltshire at the age of 73.
