Tony Wiklander
Tony Göte Sigfrid Wiklander (born 1938) is a Swedish politician of the Sweden Democrats party and a retired member of parliament who sat in the Riksdag from 2010 to 2018. Wiklander was previously the leader and chairman of the Progress Party. Biography Wiklander established himself as a local politician in Åstorp and was a member of the Left Party and the Social Democrats. In 1989, he was elected as chairman of the Helsingborg based Progress Party. He was expelled as chairman of the party due to comments in the media that were seen as too extreme and his connections with the early Sweden Democrats and the New Swedish Movement. Wiklander then chose to establish a new party with the old Progress Party name in October the same year in Åstorp with economic support from millionaire Carl Lundström while the Helsingborg wing continued as a separate party. New Swedish Movement
The New Swedish Movement ( sv, Nysvenska Rörelsen) was a far-right political movement in Sweden that emphasized strong Swedish nationalism, corporatism and anti-communism as well as a cult of personality around Per Engdahl. Engdahl founded the organization in 1941 under the name "Swedish opposition" (''Svensk Opposition'') after Engdahl and his supporters broke away from the National League of Sweden. He designated the group's ideology as ''nysvenskhet'' (roughly, New Swedishness). During World War II the party supported the Third Reich. Despite this, the party overtly rejected National Socialism, instead looking more towards Benito Mussolini for inspiration while also seeking to unify all groups against democracy, whether they were fascist or not. 2018 Swedish General Election
General elections were held in Sweden on 9 September 2018 to elect the 349 members of the Riksdag. Regional and municipal elections were also held on the same day. The incumbent minority government, consisting of the Social Democrats and the Greens and supported by the Left Party, won 144 seats, one seat more than the four-party Alliance coalition, with the Sweden Democrats winning the remaining 62 seats. The Social Democrats' vote share fell to 28.3 percent, its lowest level of support since 1911. The main opposition, the Moderates, lost even more support. The Sweden Democrats made gains, though less than anticipated. New Democracy (Sweden)
New Democracy ( sv, Ny Demokrati, NyD) was a political party in Sweden. It was founded in 1991 and elected into the Riksdag in the 1991 Swedish general election. It lost all its seats in the Riksdag in the subsequent election in 1994, and its subsequent decline culminated in bankruptcy in February 2000, at which time it retained only one city council post. Local factions of New Democracy reformed into minor parties such as Sjöbopartiet, which faced mixed success. New Democracy campaigned on an agenda of reform and restricted immigration, initially on economic rather than cultural grounds. Its economic policy, stressing the importance of entrepreneurship and deregulation, was generally perceived as right-wing. Carl Lundström
Carl Ulf Sture Lundström (born 13 April 1960 in Filipstad, Sweden) is a Swedish businessman. Carl Lundström is the son of Ulf Lundström and the grandson of Karl Edvard Lundström, founder of the world's largest crisp bread producer Wasabröd. When his father Ulf Lundström died in 1973, Carl Lundström was one of five heirs to Wasabröd. In 1982 Wasabröd was sold to the Swiss pharmaceutical company Sandoz.
