Tony Vittorio
Tony Vittorio is a college baseball player and coach. He is currently the head coach of the Wilmington Quakers baseball team. He was the head baseball coach of the Dayton Flyers baseball program. Vittorio has been the head coach at Dayton since the 2000 season, accumulating over 350 wins and overseeing the construction of the Flyers' Woerner Field. Early years Vittorio grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana and graduated from Southport High School in 1984. He then attended and graduated from Hanover College in 1988 with a double major in business administration and physical education. Vittorio played four years of college baseball at Hanover. Vittorio then attended the University of Kentucky, where he graduated in 1997 with a master's degree in sports management. Wilmington Quakers Baseball
Wilmington College is a private college in Wilmington, Ohio. It was established by Quakers in 1870 and is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. In fall 2018, the college set an enrollment record, bringing in 450 new students for the academic year, totaling 1,103 students on Wilmington's main campus, and 139 students at Wilmington's two Cincinnati branches at Blue Ash and Cincinnati State. NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament
The NCAA Division I Baseball Championship is held each year from May through June and features 64 college baseball teams in the United States, culminating in the eight-team Men's College World Series at Charles Schwab Field Omaha in Omaha, Nebraska. Tournament format The tournament is unique in that it features four tiers of competition, alternating between double-elimination brackets and best-of-three series. In fact, throughout the entire 64-team tournament, a team can lose a total of four games and still be crowned champions. During team selection, sixteen teams are given "national seeds". The top eight of these teams automatically host a super regional if they advance past the regional round, assuming that they have the facilities to do so. Atlantic 10 Conference Baseball Coach Of The Year
At the end of each regular season, the Atlantic 10 Conference names major award winners in baseball. It currently names a Coach, Pitcher, Player, and Rookie of the Year. The Coach of the Year, dating to 1988, is the oldest. Pitcher and Player were added in 1993, Rookie in 1994. Through the end of 2014, Rhode Island has won the most major awards, with 12. The only other school to win more than ten is George Washington, with 11. Three players have won more than one of the awards. In 2000, George Washington's Greg Conden was named both Rookie and Pitcher of the Year. Duquesne's B. J. The Atlantic 10 Conference (A-10) is a collegiate athletic conference whose schools compete in the National Collegiate Athletic Association's (NCAA) Division I. The A-10's member schools are located in states mostly on the United States Eastern Seaboard, as well as some in the Midwest: Massachusetts, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia, Ohio, Illinois, and Missouri as well as in the District of Columbia. NCAA Division II (D-II) is an intermediate-level division of competition in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).
