Tony Roper (racing Driver)
Anthony Dean Roper (December 13, 1964 – October 14, 2000) was an American professional stock car racing driver. A competitor in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, he died after suffering injuries in a racing accident at Texas Motor Speedway. Early career Roper was born in Springfield, Missouri, to Dean Roper and Shirley Medley. Growing up his family was heavily involved in auto racing, as his father was a noted competitor in ARCA and other stock car racing series. Roper started racing in 1986. For the next six years he raced in IMCA Modifieds and late models on Midwest dirt and asphalt tracks. In 1992 he finished in second place for the American Speed Association Rookie of the Year Award. Adam Petty
Adam Kyler Petty (July 10, 1980 – May 12, 2000) was an American professional stock car racing driver. He was the fourth generation from the Petty family to drive in races in the highest division of NASCAR racing, mostly in what was then known as the NASCAR Busch Series. He was believed to be the first young fourth-generation athlete in all of modern American professional sports. Early life Petty was raised in High Point, North Carolina into stock car racing "royalty." Parkland Memorial Hospital is a public hospital in Dallas, Texas, United States. It is the main hospital of the Parkland Health & Hospital System and serves as Dallas County's public hospital. Rick Ware
Richard S. Ware (born August 6, 1963) is a professional racecar driver and owner of Rick Ware Racing. When he was nine years old, he began racing motocross and moved up to the BMX class when he was 12. In 1983, he was named Rookie of the Year in the California Sports Car Club. He went on to win several titles in that series, as well as the SCCA and International Motor Sports Association, IMSA. He also competed in the 1984 Long Beach Grand Prix. In 1990, he moved to North Carolina and made his NASCAR Winston Cup Series debut that year at The Bud at the Glen in the No. 22 owned by Buddy Baker. He spent the next decade running short tracks in the Auto Racing Club of America, ARCA, and the Busch Series. Steve Grissom
Steven Paul Grissom (born June 26, 1963) is an American former stock car racing driver. Grissom was the 1993 Busch Series champion and has eleven Busch wins in 185 starts. He turned down a scholarship to play quarterback at the University of Alabama to focus a career on racing. Early years Grissom began his racing career as a youth, working on cars with his father Wayne, who was a sponsor of short track drivers in their home state of Alabama. He soon began racing cars himself, balancing that with being captain of his high school football and basketball teams in 1981. He eventually joined the Winston All-Pro Series, and won the championship in 1985. The next season, he was nominated for Alabama Pro Athlete of the Year. The Vankor 350 was a NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series race at Texas Motor Speedway. The 1999 race was 300 kilometers and the 2000 race was 400 kilometers, and became 350 kilometers in 2001. American Speed Association
The American Speed Association (ASA) is a sanctioning body of motorsports in the United States formed in 1968. The Association was based in Pendleton, Indiana, Pendleton, Indiana, and later in Daytona Beach, Florida. The ASA sanctioned asphalt and dirt tracks in their ASA Member Track program along with racing series in the United States and Canada. The ASA was most famous for a national touring series which began in 1973 but was discontinued in 2004 due to financial difficulties. A late model car is a car which has been recently designed or manufactured, often the latest model. (An early model car or classic car is a car old enough to be of historical interest; there is no usual intermediate term.) The precise definition of "late model" varies. Racing Late model race cars are the highest class of local stock car racing vehicles at many race tracks in the United States and Canada.
