Tony Pearson (born January 11, 1957) is an American bodybuilding champion. His bodybuilding championships include individual and couples competitions. Biography Early years Tony Pearson was born the second youngest of eight children (five girls and three boys). His mother, Daisy Pearson, was a stay at home mom and his father, Sam Pearson, worked as an ice and coal delivery man. Pearson grew up during the civil rights era of the early 1960s in Memphis, Tennessee. In 1959, at age two, Tony's parents divorced, at which time he was taken to an aunt to raise him. This family member was in her later years and financially and emotionally unable to care for a young child. In 1970 they moved to St. Louis, Missouri where he attended Normandy Junior and Normandy High School. In 1973, after years of abuse and neglect, the intervention of his high school counselor and the State of Missouri took custody of Tony from his aunt and placed him into a group home. The World Bodybuilding Federation (WBF) was a bodybuilding organization founded in 1991 by Vince McMahon. Early years and education Bergmann (born Juliette Maria Suzanna Bergmann) was born in Vlaardingen, Netherlands, from a Dutch mother and an Indonesian father. Carla Dunlap
Carla Dunlap-Kaan (born October 22, 1954) is a professional American female bodybuilding champion. Early life and education Dunlap was born in 1954, in Newark, New Jersey. She started competing in sports with gymnastics at age 10. She later competed in swimming, both speed and synchronized. Dunlap attended the Newark School of Fine and Industrial Arts on a full scholarship, earning a degree in Advertising Design. She won the gold medal in synchronized swimming in the 1977 Junior National Team Championships, and a bronze medal at the inaugural National Sports Festival in 1978. Lynn Conkwright (May 30, 1954 – June 14, 2017) was a professional female bodybuilder from the United States. Biography Lynn was born on May 30, 1954, in Norfolk, Virginia. Conkwright trained for eight years in gymnastics, and won the Virginia State Gymnastics Championships. She began weight training to improve her gymnastics. Despite her small stature (5' tall and just over 100 pounds), she was one of the top professional competitors in the early 1980s. Henri Christophe Dickerson (August 25, 1939 – December 23, 2021) was an American professional bodybuilder. Early life Dickerson was born in Montgomery, Alabama, on August 25, 1939. He was the youngest of triplets. His mother, Mahala Ashley Dickerson, was a lawyer and civil rights advocate for women and minorities. He graduated high school at Olney Friends School in 1957. Lisa Lyon (born 1953) is a female bodybuilder and photo model from the United States, and is regarded as one of female bodybuilding's pioneers. Biography Born in Los Angeles, California in 1953. Lisa Lyon studied art at the University of California at Los Angeles. There she became accomplished in the Japanese art of fencing, kendo, but found herself lacking sufficient upper body strength so she began weight training. This eventually led her into bodybuilding.
